Adamek now in his 3rd fight at Heavyweight looks like his body is ad******g and is now a true Heavyweight. Adamek will stay in the pocket and hammer Arreola, with a couple of combos and then move out. Arreola can't cut off the ring, and I see Adamek finishing off Arreola in 6 or less in a great FOTY battle. It will be interesting to see how Adamek reacts to a punch in the face though, he has an iron chin, but has never really been hit by a Heavyweight. WTF, why is adjust ing banned?
Exactomondo. Arreola's deep flaws (against weaker competition, no less) are getting a free pass by some here, in favour of his size. Well if you think fat gives you an advantage than go for it, because fat is the only size advantage Arreola has over Adamek.
No he knocked Golota down twice and TKO'd his ass. Tell me, how many fighters in Golota's LONG career against some of the best fighters in the last 20 years have knocked him out? Let me save you the trouble, only Lennox Lewis managed to KO Golota. His defense has gotten better mostly because he's been more judicious about brawling and taking unnecessary risks. Arreola's defense is still crap, even against clubfighters. Furthermore his punching is butt ugly and wide and leaves his lunging chin ripe for picking. All the more too him. Does Arreola have this kind of experience?
I won't be suprised if he does, he must have a huge natural size advantage over a guy who used to be a light heavyweight. Arreola's not exactly a small heavyweight either.
Both man stand forehead to forehead, with Arreola outweighing Adamek by at least 30lbs of fat. You think that's an advantage in boxing?
Only advantage Arreola has is his size. Adamek, is quicker, more mobile, more skilled and proven at a much higher level though at a lower weight. Arreola's best win is against McCline who was 38, 10lbs above his best weight and had been convinced out of retirement for one last payday. Adamek may not be the man to expose Arreola but it would not suprise me at all if he won the fight. Infact I would favour Adamek, he is clearly the superior boxer, wether that is enough depends upon how well Adamek takes a punch at heavyweight.
No, he doesn't have a huge natural size advantage. A size advantage, yes, but not that much. Case in point: This content is protected That's right - 178 as a 20 year old. He then sat on his ass for a couple years, gained 60 pounds and became a heavyweight.
He looks to have a bigger frame to me, I though Adamek looked a bit small against Golota to be a heavyweight. Honestly I thought he looked a bit small ar cruiser where Steve Cunningham looked so much bigger in the weigh in pics a couple of years ago. In terms of height there's not much in it, but there's not much in it between Adamek and Paul Williams either and he's no where near heavyweight size in anything other than height. Arreolas fat and Adameks lean no doubt about it maybe the fitness works in Adameks favour but I'll pick Arreola to win this one.
If Arreola was 220lbs, he would actually be in shape. He has power, he's bigger then Adamek, but he gets hit too much, and has little boxing skills. It amazes me how he won the US nationals in the first place.
yeah i never said adamek could not outbox arreola! But cant see it for 12 rounds! cause no matter what arreola will be in his face for 12 rounds
Adamek is much more skilled, but he's not a big Heavy by any means, and the way he likes to open up could see him get caught at some point and put out of there. Arreola has a solid chin and isn't going to get particularly affected by Adamek's power, so it's a question of whether he can be disciplined enough not to get caught at some point.
Adamek is the better fighter but size could play a part here.Adameck is not a heavy and never will be.I think this move up in weight is stupid and he is going to come unstuck.I think if Arreola lands flush he wins by KO.
