That's the correct explanation for losing too much weight, if he were to drop to 230lbs, it would be unnatural for a guy that has been fighting in the 240 -250 range in the last 6 fights. Some boxer's operate better with the excessive weight because they know how to you it use....

Good point. I had said prior that Arreola would need at least 6 months to lose the excess fat safely and rebuild his muscle mass.

trying to lose excess weight in camp is the worst thing to do with the amount of time he has.

His best strategy is to have an intense body conditioning camp and then he just comes into the fight at whatever weight he happens to be.

With his size the extra conditioning and diet I think he can safely lose about 3 lbs a week without losing muscle. Two months of this will reduce his weight 24 lbs. I believe that at the press conference he was at about 265-270. So Cris weighing in at 245-250 is possible. What in effect he will be doing is eating enough protein and proper combination of protein, carbs, and fat combined with weight training and cardio will maintain muscle and decrease fat. The thing to note is that Cris will be doing what he has never done before. . . condition himself. Imagine if Foreman had done the same?

I've been in the gym with Chris.

He's an enigma to me. The work ethic of slug, but so much heart and will in the ring. The guy just doesnt use his gym time. He is an unbelievable natural talent. Shame.

Even wearing black he still looked chubby at the press conference, but not as much as those pictures suggested. I'd say he is 270lbs.

IMO he shows up against Vitali between 248lbs and 255lbs.

    I call 245.

I think he will actually train hard, as hard as he can anyway, but starting from a high weight and not really bothering so much in previous fights will be too much for him to overcome to get down to where he should be - around 230 or less.

I agree with you..I think the 297 number was intentional disinfo.

**** that ****, mango................. Arreola had best give it a go like Sanders did in L.A. back in 2004 on HBO............. V.K.'s fight / TKO over Sanders was a great but sometimes sloppy WBC title fight that pleased the paying crowd at the Staples Ctr........

I feel Arreola will get parked, but since that Taco eater is getting paid a ****-load of cash from HBO, he better be willing to take his ass kicking like a man......... None of this laying down from some phantom type punch that either misses or grazes his chin / temple............
    :deal:bbb:rasta

    MR.BILL

    Note:

I don't want to see anymore "Bruce Seldon vs. Tyson" bull**** ever again in a big fight......... None of that "Ali-Liston 2" crap from '65, either.....

I hope chris comes in arond 240 to 243...hes better at that weight..if he put on muscle than maybe 248 but nothing above that cuz i think he'll tire fast and might lose it quick
