If all the current champs werent Russian all this hype wouldnt be happening. Chris is an ok fighter, but any movement whatsoever confuses him, he needs you to just stand there and let him hit you. He is not the savior of the division, either one of the Klitschkos would demolish him. Either KO him or win every round in punishing fashion
Don't believe everything you read. I'd be shocked if Arreola and Haye have sparred. Arreola trains in California and Haye trains in the UK, and neither one ventures far from their home territory. They might have fought in the amateurs though. Walker is a much bigger chump than Arreola and will probably get his ass kicked. This is a mandatory to face Wlad though - that one could be very ugly.
The story I heard was that Arreola refused to spar with Haye outright. Haye and BJ Flores have sparred a lot though and according to Haye, he's the best at CW now that he left.
Haye said once something like this:''There is that big logg in California,I forget his name, but he's so ugly I can't watch his fights to study him''
incorrect. haye's training camp is in northern cyprus. but he has also trained out of florida before. most recently for the enzo unification bout.
I am "Hopeful" for Arreola. He has a crowd pelasing style so its hard not to like him. He has good power, throws plenty of shots, has respectable handspeed for a fat guy, good amateur career, has size, has rspectable stamina and shows a good chin. On the downside, he is a plodder, he telegraphs his shots, he defeintely needs someone to train him who can motivate him. He doesnt need to get ripped, but he would benefit from being more in shape. His defense isnt the best and he eats jabs. A master boxer and mover would make him look bad. Luckily, there arent any of those at the elite level right now. Us USA guys need a heavy, he is one of the best prospects. I am hopeful for him but certainly not convinced or overly excited.
how come every fighter that is american is the last great american hope. dont we have like ten of those right now. i thought that was chad dawson's title anyway. but how about liking arreola beacause he has an exciting style fights and live a matter of minutes away and is bringing more attention to the heavyweight scene that it is lacking.
Don't worry, about a year from now the big American HW hope will be Tor Hamer, who seems to be significantly better than Arreola, provided he can adjust to the pro game. I like Arreola a lot, but I don't hold out any hope that he'll become the savior of the heavyweight division. Early on, I thought he might become a supersized Juan Diaz, but he just hasn't put any effort into learning how to defend himself, and without learning defense, he can't get very far with his style.
I've seen three of his last fights and he's great to watch. He's taken some shots and needs to work harder to get his kinks out. But he likes to scrap and thats what the division needs right now . Guys like chris and haye bring some excitement to the division. Even if chris is overated and overweight he's always going for the KO!
Haye spent some time in Miami training for the Barrett fight i believe, i do know he goes to Miami to train when he isnt training in Cyprus, and Haye fought at the playboy mansion and in france, so he does venture out of the UK to fight.
Another one of Derek Jeters left overs... **** Derek jeter, looking at a list of the women that he has laid down with makes me sick...Most of us would be lucky to have one chick like that and he has about 20...I mean damn you look at a list of the 20 hottest chicks and he has nailed half of them.
I watch the fight and he was not very impressive. He reminds me of a Mexican HW back in the day named Garcia who did very well, but could not beat the elite. I am hoping one of you posters remember him.
