Hopkins was alright actually, i only met him really briefly (again at Hatton v Malignaggi) as he was sat a row infront of us. A guy i was with actually said to Bernard (and this is no joke)... "Ere Bernard, come shake my hand or i'll give you a dead leg" Then Bernard put his hand out to shake, and pulled it back and started laughing, then they shook hands and my mate got his picture took. I was expecting Hopkins to be a bit of a twat tbh' but he was alright
Maybe they don't want the millions of dollars that those random people pay for their fights neither. I understand they're human but if it wasn't for the people, they'd be fighting for change or nothing.
Pascal is a real gentleman with his fan's :good i had a couples of pictures with him at the Bute-Miranda fight
i couldn't agree more with the vargas comment. i experienced his racist, ignorant attitude first hand. but in general fighters are some of the nicest friendliest people i've met. andre ward is a total sweetheart. i use to train in the same gym with him @ king's in oakland and he'd walk in and says hello to everyone whether they are a fighter or just working out for fitness before they even say hello to him. he would strike up conversations with people and ask them how their life was and job, kids etc. teach the kids a few things, but he didn't tolerate any vulgar language from the kids. not even ass. lol. someone asked him why SOG since it was not a very freightning type of name etc. he said that's, "the scariest name out there who doesn't fear god?" pac is also real nice. met him three times and by the 3rd time he remembered me after not seeing him for like 1.5 years. and we talked like long lost friends. tony thompson was very nice when saw him and also treats his fans like long lost friends.
Cotto is a nice guy he is just reserved he is willing to take pictures with the fans but not very talkative I got a pic with him and my little man before the Judah fight cool dude just low key and quiet
Malinaggi is the best though he will talk to anybody i caught him down town once and i was kicking it with him for a minute and I see him at the garden and the roseland ballroom all the time
i once saw him up here in sf, california at the bar condor. i walked up and i said it's an honor to meet you, and i love your fighting spirit and how you always put on exciting fights. he looked at me smiled, and then took his hands put it near his eyes and made slanted eyes and bowed, and started speaking in funny sounds asking me if i understood his chinese. i was embarrassed but more for him than for me because he was a grown man and only his friends laughed but everyone else thought he was just being an ass.
Hopkins is a cool dude too I was giving him **** after the Tito press conference when he tossed the PR flag to the floor and telling him how Tito was going to bust his ass, not in so many words.....but he was calm and collected and he was litteraly a foot away from me and he just smiled and told me that he was going to beat Tito's ass no matter what it took for him to do it!
