Arslanbek Makhmudov looks like he would break Deontay Wilders spine, and Furys neck.

That is probably why he wont be getting big fights, at least not until now. WBC ordered eliminator between Wilder and Ruiz, and now they called if off. Talks are that Wilder vs Joshua will be for interim championship, and Ruiz will be ordered to fight Makhmuzdov, which will never happen. Next in line will be Sanchez.

But what if the talks of Joshua/Wilder falls apart - it will be Wilder-Makhmudov. That will be the end of american. He aint no fury in terms of skill, but he aint no fury in terms of chin and power.

Strongly disagree. Makhmudov isn't the boogeyman some make him out to be, similar to Hrgovic.
He gets wrecked by Wilder and Fury, Joshua and Usyk too for that matter.

Makhmudov still has to step up to see what he's made of. Takam has been the first relative fringe fighter he's faced and he didn't have it that easy. Probably leaarned a lot from that fight though.

Mak's better than Hrgovic. Maybe not as skilled, but shows way more urgency and ambition. And of course he punches like the clappers.

So long as he doesn't fall in love with his power he's got a very high ceiling.

Debatable, but that fight might be seen in future. Both would accept, unlike current "elites".

I'm happy to revise my opinion down the road. He might turn out to be a bust. The Takam fight showed that canny veterans can still cause him issues, and his last fight was a bit of a wild brawl. That's not the way Mak should fight IMO.

Ok...make it happen then. He is in the rankings so he should get his shot or eliminator shot quickly then .

He might be crude but he has an iron chin and donkey Kong power and that is enough to batter most of the Top 5.

He's beaten nobody of note to earn a shot at the top guys, he had his hands full with a middle aged Takam and despite all the talk of his power couldn't put Takam away like Povetkin, Joyce and Chisora did.

Let's actually see him step up and fight someone half decent again and see how he does. Yeah nobody is calling out is name but he isn't the only heavyweight in that position. Guys like Ortiz, Bakole, Gassiev, Miller, Ajagba and Wallin are in a similar position with few options right now for a name opponent, so lets see one of these guys in the ring with Makhmudov.

Personally I think he's not even top 10 material, he's just another Ajagba with a better chin, yeah he's powerful but far too basic and crude to ever excel at the top level unless he's matched very carefully, which is probably why he hasn't and likely won't be matched with anyone decent anytime soon. Top rank will keep racking up wins vs nobodies and hope he gets himself in position for an eliminator then a mandatory while not facing anyone good that could expose him.

Yet he barely scraped by an ancient worn out Takam and continues to bust open cans with his "vaunted " power.
Maybe he'll be ready to step it up in the next 3-4 years when hes hitting his prime at 38 years old...

    Takam embarrased Makhmudov.
