Right now if there is a fight between Arslanbek Makhmudov and Frank Sanchez who do you think will win ?
It's amazing that six boxers ducked Frank Sanchez for the IBF Eliminator ( Moses Itauma, Jared Anderson, Richard Torrez Jr, Daniel Dubois, Efe Ajagba, Filip Hrgovic).
Makhmudov has a puncher’s chance but technically it’s a total mismatch. Sanchez cruises to a decision.
Frank Sanchez is as good as the 2nd best HW in the world. Is probably like 5th or 6th. Has a shot against anyone. Makhmudov is like a low top 20 guy. He could probably carve a path to a mandatory like Chisora did if you give him the right combination of matchups. But thats really his ceiling.
Sanchez is a very mediocre gatekeeper at best - he'd lose to all of the top guys pretty much every time. But Makh isn't even that - he's journeyman level. Sanchez should win, but it's not really that much worth shouting about. These guys are both very overrated, even now.
Both are gatekeepers at best. However, Sanchez is technically a lot better than Makhmudov and that would get him the decision win IMO after a couple cagey moments where Makh goes wild, lands a half decent shot and goes all over the place.
I'm not sure where all this praise for Sanchez is coming from. He has a paper thin resume and is definitely lying about his age. His only fights of note are beating Ajagba, who himself is no world-beater, and getting whooped by Kabayel. As far as him being ducked, it could because of pay issues. He brings nothing to the table, but is good enough to not risk it, is my guess. This is a good fight, for sure, but I don't expect much from grandpa.
