There is much politics in boxing, to be better than others is not enough.

The front row would need to wear raincoats, otherwise they run the risk of getting doused in Gallo juice.

Arslanbek arse decks him in 2.

When your boy steps up and fights an opponent with a pulse — which is to say when his team believes he’s ready to fight real fights — I’ll decide whether he can beat a contender.

Right now all we know is that his team isn’t ready to do so even though he’s 30 ... which tells me they’re the ones who don’t feel confident.

Yet he needed 7 to take out a 10-3 guy, lol.

a 10-3 guy who had never even come close to being stopped before and widely viewed as a top notch journeyman. Do you follow boxing? Or do you just casually glance at Boxrec?

Right, that guy who’s only losses are to other unbeaten fighters and had never been down or stopped before. You’re theory works really well, clearly an A-grade analyst. Though please enlighten me on how Andy Ruiz was capable of knocking out the undefeated, unified HW champion Anthony Joshua in 7 and failed to budge the legendary Raphael Zumbano Love over 8 rounds? Just doesn’t quite match up.

It was a good experience for Makhmudov in that Rice fight. Rice fought negatively off the backfoot similar to Hughie v Parker but at the same time gave Makhmudov plenty to think about and a different style to come up against which will benefit him going forward. It was a bit of a weak stoppage too I thought.

I thought Rice gave Yoka more problems tbh and it could have been interesting if it were more than a 6 rounder.

Tye Fields was a joke? Yeah but Makhmudov isn't right? Who has he beat yet? How is he the future of the heavyweight division? Tye Fields beat some guys who were considered solid journeyman fighters too. He beat Sherman "The Tank" Williams a durable guy who was only stopped 1 time in his career. Saul Montana, Ed Mahon, Maurice Harris.

In any case Arslanbek Makhmudov has done nothing with his career so far for people to consider him to be anything.

Your top-notch journeyman will be lucky to win 5 of his next 10 fights unless his team has deep enough pockets to buy him 5 wins.

Based on that you figure Arliss here is gonna be icing real heavyweights in 2 rounds or less.

So why doesn’t his team have the confidence to put him in with someone who can fight back? Ask yourself why they don’t have the same belief in him.

I don’t know if he can fight at a top or near-top level. You don’t know if he can. No one knows if he can. But if his team believed he could, they’d have at least found a fringe contender for him given that he’s already 30. Hmmmm.

He has 8 pro fights. You're trying way too hard. Just admit that you dont like him and hope he doesn't succeed and be on your way.

Rice barely threw a punch that night.
But Makhmudov did show some head movement. Looked like he was always ready to slip his head off the line, which was nice. Good for him if he really is improving his defense, because he used to eat punches like skittles.
