He might win a title if he can pick up a vacant belt or face off against a weak title holder but he's very limited. Yeah he has power and a decent chin but the Takam fight showed how limited he is. The top heavyweights now would dominate him, Usyk, Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Joyce etc. He'll always be dangerous with his power but you avoid the right hand and he's nullified, he needs more than that.
so big and awkward , but was floored like 8 times in his career , also ducked most of legit opposition.
I'm not too impressed with him tbh but he's a scary guy and clearly hits very hard. Before the Zhang fight I would have said Joyce easily beats him but now I'm not so sure. He's too slow and plodding to beat the top guys, I think even Ruiz takes him.
I was a big proponent of this guy but the Takam fight showed his limitations. Unless he can address them then he's going to end up wasting his (single) shot if he ever gets one. It's now or never to tighten up or regret it forever.
Looks like he's gonna fight Nigerian boxer Akpejiori on the Jared Anderson undercard. I must say that's a nice fight right there.
They should have fought a few months ago, but Akpejiori pulled out Arslanbek loves tall, slow fighters, he gonna win by TKO in round 2
I agree, Akpejiori has no skills, Makhmudov should win easily and as you said in the first two rounds...
He needs better opposition than the Nigerian. Appears as though his team will continue on this path until they can cash him out in a big fight. Maybe Anderson next.
Lets hope that the stage here/new promoter will open more opportunities for him. a brutal KO on a top rank card, headlined by their main HW hopeful is a step in the right direction.
Doubtful. Doesn’t fight often enough and the ranked fighters with something to lose will never give him a look in.
