Very senseless fight.
Also I don't understand Arslanbek why he didn't take this opportunity to spar, after that close fight against Takam. He fought like a kid who lost his candy. Even his Trainer said during the fight he should stop fighting like that, slow down, use his jab, collect rounds and box cleaner.

 

I think it's the small boxing ring and a very reluctant opponent unwilling to engage that causes these sloppy fights. He just blunders forwards and starts winging away.

That said; his IQ is not improving - probably due to lack of good sparring - and its only his power bailing him out.

 

Well it went 1 round. The last time I saw a butchering like that its was Thanksgiving, Big Mak made a turkey out of Wallisch.

 

I read about this Russian before and this was the first fight I saw with him… what do people see that make them so excited? Sure the opponent had already given up walking to the ring so it wasn’t really a fight but this Russian did not impress, he looked more like a Tough Man competitor to me, swinging wild with most shots connecting to the back of the head with zero defense.

Makhmudov is definitely in danger of regressing to the point where's totally ineffective by the time a big opportunity finally comes his way. That's problem when you're only in the gym and fighting stiffs that blow over from so much as a light breeze. The Jonathon Rice fight shows that he can jab and cut the ring off against an elusive and game opponent, but it appears he's become too accustomed to headhunting and banking on the fact that his opponent will tumble over early. That's a recipe for disaster if he and his trainers don't sort that out.

To be honest, I believe Wallisch was a turkey before the fight even started.

 

Dave Allen said he was offered the fight and accepted 7-8 weeks ago but his Dad told him not to take the fight.
