Tremendous contest. Saw this one many years ago, but forgot all about it. Probably more good work to the body by both fighters than I've seen in any other single match. I don't know what the hell Lapaglia was thinking by constantly dropping his guard though. I've seen both men in other fights as well, but mainly in losing efforts. Olympic prospect Andrew Maynard took out Jimmerson years later. I think Hearns beat Lapagla towards the end of their careers too. Lapaglia was actually a native of Chicago, and lived in Melrose park not far from where I went to college and my wife grew up. Great fight, thanks...

Jimmerson-LaPaglia remains one of the best club fights I've ever seen and one of the better fights that was aired on the MSG boxing series. It was fun to see it again, that's for sure.
Lapaglia was a tough guy and super exciting guy. I would have liked to see him with Manny Stewart as a trainer.
