The main card with matches #7-10 airs at 23.15 local time in Moscow, or 4:15pm EST. It features:

Local lad has like a foot in height over the Tanzanian.

 

...but that doesn't prevent him from getting dropped by a wild slugging combo!

 

Oh wow, that was ...a lot of blatant homer corruption in just a single round.

First, the ref somehow ruled Estemirov getting shellacked with hooks on the face and falling on his ass to be a "slip"...took his sweet time calling time in, then when Estemirov's gum shield was knocked out was very slow to walk him to his corner and give him a leisurely recovery break to reinsert it. Ubaya was putting it on him in the last minute, was curious to see what the ref would've done if Estemirov was knocked unconscious. Maybe disqualified Ubaya?

 

Early in round two, Ubaya blasts Estemirov with a lunging overhand right from outside, then a left hook on the chin as he's doubled over in pain. Gum shield goes flying again, Estemirov does a chicken dance and wobbles into a faceplant. The ref has no choice but to give a count. Estemirov beats it but is battered into a corner and there is the mercy stoppage upset.

TKO2!!

 

Such a contrast in mood between the jubilant Ubaya mugging and celebrating while his coaches remove his gloves and...just about everyone at ringside looking nonplussed. He should just skip the victory interview and hop a cab to Pushkin Airport, because the mood in there is tense. Bro not reading the room.

 

In his last assignment Estemirov had taken a lopsided ten round decision over another African import, Gabriel Olarewaju Success Oluwasegun of Nigeria. Think he was expecting a very different outcome here today.

 

Orkhan Nizameddin Ogly Gadzhiev vs. Varazdat Vladimirovich Chernikov, 6 rounds @ super middleweight

 

The buff bearded Azerbaijani comes in 16-3-2 (11), and his opponent - the skinny-fat creeper who looks like he could be Peter Lorre Jr.'s grandson, is 12-20 with fifteen losses by stoppage.
