All this talk of a new trainer is pointless, can you really see Abraham doing anything else? His flaws are so ingrained by now.

I don't rate Wegner greatly. His fighters all take the same appearance and are overly power dependent in short bursts. That's an incredibly exploitable style. Abraham and Huck especially are very stiff at the waste, move around in straight lines, and stand there trying to block everything leaving their body open.

I can see Abraham maybe doing what He does a bit better. End of the day he doesn't have the physical stature to bully opponents constantly, but he does still carry good power at the weight. So I think it is a case of maybe having someone new to make you do what you do better. Quicker with his bursts, and a little more elusive. If he can become better at these things, I believe from behind his peek a boo, he can land a bit more against guys who are more naturally athletic and speedy

How's he going to expand upon his current game with that style? He has his gloves over his eyes, thats why he can't land counterpunches. He can only punch when his opponent isn't punching which is predictable and exploitable. His footwork is also incredibly clumsy and he does not seem a natural athlete built for speed or stamina he's built for power. He has handspeed in short bursts but he moves like a 60 year old. He's always going to be easily outfoxed by the Andre Ward's, and easily outboxed by rangy fighters. Against crude fighters or lower level fighers he's deadly.

With a new trainer it might refresh him, they can polish up a few things, but at the end of the day you're not getting a blank canvas like Khan was. Abraham isn't that talented and he's older.

I actually agree with you. All I am suggesting is that a change might rejuvenate him, give him fresh impetus and maybe someone new can help him improve on the things he does.
No one is saying he has slick movement etc. We all know what he is about, it's just a case of him doing it better to be more competitive with his opposition. At this level he can't throw the bombs and get nothing back in return. Slight improvements in his apparent stiff as **** body could make a works of difference. We don't need to re invent the wheel

If I was a top trainer going to start anything with Abraham I'd be laying out a proper conditioning program and if he didn't want any part of it I wouldn't bother. I don't know what he does but its not really good enough, and he wastes too much energy winding up punches that aren't playing to the percentages.

A good basic way of improving him would be to shorten up his punching, he is capable of this, all his best KO's have been from sound punching not wild heaves. Not to put everything into every single shot. More rounded fighters don't do that, you can't rely on power like that every time, sometimes you have to set them up. Not every shot has to be your best. Hopefully we'd get a little more work-rate out of him this way because whatever you work on if you still only throw 10 punches a round you're fighting an uphill battle.

That'd be a start, but some of the fundamental things he's never shown like how to move your head, how to able to turn and pivot, how to move the upper body, using footwork to create angles, these things are going to be seriously difficult to ingrain into a 30 year old. We've seen Khan gradually improving this and he's a very talented kid, a young kid, and he's still noway near where Roach would want him.

Supposedly in between rounds he said to AA ''your fighting like a coward...are you a coward?'' something like that.

He was getting beat by Taylor, but ko'd him with a great punch down the pipe. I believe he is capable of this at this level. I think he kind of accepts he will lose a great deal of rounds. He does gas out quite quickly and this is a problem. But there are things you won't be able to teach him.
He only needs to incorporate some kind of lateral movement coming in to improve his success rate. He only needs that door to be half open. Although he can stink the joint out he intrigues me because he does posses that x factor of the killer punch
