...if the proposed fight vs. Pavlik in June/July falls trough.

The fight would be staged in Berlin and to happen right after the German Bundesliga cup final which traditionally goes down at the Berliner Olympiastadion before a crowd of 74,000 people.

Promoter Sauerland Event would like to have the fight take place right after the cup final at a venue near the stadium - either at the Berliner Waldbühne (20,000), O2 World (14.000) or Max-Schmeling-Hall (8.000).

My favourite would clearly be the Berliner Waldbühne:

Just to bump the thread and engage in idle speculation. Any idea what a Pavlik/Abraham fight would do in Germany? From the money they offered Sturm, I would have to think that would have been a huge fight?

Not as much as you think.

Kelly Pavlik is virtually unknown in Germany; Sturm-Abraham would be MUCH bigger than Pavlik-Abraham. Pavlik-Abraham could draw 10,000 spectators whereas Sturm-Abraham could get 20,000. Also keep in mind that tickets are quite cheap in Germany.

As to viewing figures: About 5 million people usually watch Abraham's fights.
    Pavlik-Abraham? Maybe: 7 million
    Sturm-Abraham? Maybe: 8-9 million

Thus I don't think Pavlik would get €2.5 million (the money Sauerland offered Sturm).

So what your saying is they have a fight set to replace a fight that isnt made??? But AA wants to fight Pavlik??? Yeah right, My guess is he will be fighting on this date vs some bum, and say that he did every thing in his power to make a fight with Pavlik, while I was busy trying to make this fight...What a ****ing joke:huh

20,000 ? it dont look that big in the pic. but yeah this will happen in may cause arum dont want to make the fight its kind of obvious at this stage he'd rather put pavlik in with overmatched guys like duddy, rubio, lockett, and any other c level fighter he can find

Ya -- I guess Kelly is stuck with those "C" level guys like Zuniga, Miranda, Taylor and Hopkins. He'll just never make it to the next level.

Interesting. One fight in March, one in May? That's a busy schedule.

If negotiations will be a total failure for KP-AA, Sauerland should try to get a double-header for a last try, and if they'll still show no interest, King Arthur should move up. There are better fighters at 168, than MW could offer to Abraham, with Sturm and Pavlik... protecting their interests...

Its funny how so many of the European fans say dumb **** like that while defending guys like Kessler, Froch, and AA who really do fight cab drivers and bartenders most of the time.

AA has to prove nothing and to make him more known in the US is not necessary.

It would be nice to see Pavlik at the Waldbühne. Sturm vs. AA would be huge in Germany, but so would Pav vs. AA. Pav is not as known as Sturm, but Pav is the reigning middleweight champion and that is all Germans have to know.

I know what you mean bro. If Pav really does fight Duddy in his next outing, the AA fans will go berzerk, and I will simply point out that Duddy would be a top 3 win for AA.

    Duddy C+
    Rubio C+
Lockett D; ya got give KP that one. They were trying to get Joe to back up 6 months of talking ****.

And it is rather irritating that people mention Duddy, a guy KP hasn't even fought yet, Lockett and Rubio, and act as if Pavlik took some gravy train to the top. In 3 years time he fought Zuniga, McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, Taylor X 2, and Hopkins, and did everything he could to get Calzaghe in the ring. Acting like he only fights "C" level guys is assinine.
