Abraham (the former IBF middleweight champion) moved up in weight to join the Super Middleweight tournament and left with a 2-3 (2 KO) record but after being outboxed in all three losses he is deciding to move down in weight.

Sergio Martinez (the former WBO/WBC Middleweight champion) was stripped of his titles but since at middleweight has piled up a 3-1 (2KO) record, avenging his first defeat by a brutal knockout.

At first I would suggest an easy fight but big name like Kelly Pavlik for Abraham but that looks doubtful with him moving up in weight and Paul Williams also who moved down wont be looking to get knocked out again.

Sergio Martinez however is fighting either Junior Middleweights or Euro Level fighters as no one else will fight him for the time being and judging by Abrahams size disadvantage at 168, it would be easier for him to stay at 160.

So Who wins between Abraham and Martinez? this fight looks very likely

Brute power vs speed, power, and precision. I'm still a fan of AA, but he'd get stunned and outboxed by Sergio. Sergio UD.

I like AA and picked him over Kelly if they had ever fought . . . but sergio wins this going away . . . unless AA gets a new trainer and then he might make it closer but I still see sergio winning it.

I'd like to see it. Finally, a decent opponent for Sergio at middleweight. I think Sergio outboxes him though, but he could face some hairy spots if Abraham is able to get close and land his hardest powerpunches......
....and Kelly Pavlik would NOT be an easy fight for AA, :nono and if he really does have that many problems making weight at 160, then maybe AA is best served to stay at 168 and land a big fight with Kelly. It makes good sense to me if both guys are willing to step to the plate.

Very good fight. But since the Paul Williams KO I won't doubt his abilities. He won't KO Abraham and may have a little trouble with Abraham. But Sergio Martinez gets a good UD.

Going back to 160 makes little sense. He should stay at 168 and fight Pavlik, then go from there.

Maravilla was in a close fight with Pavlik who was badly cut and Abraham dropped Dirrell twice in their fight. I also had Ward vs Abraham 116-112. Abraham is strong hits hard to the body, got a very decent jab and doesn´t offer many opportunities for counter punchers while walking around in his ear muff shell.. I don´t see how this can be an easy fight for Maravilla providing Abraham can make 160lbs well..
I think Abraham could very well knock Bute out who aside from Stieglitz has the worst defense game from all rated 168lbs guys that would be a 50-50 fight imo..

Martinez UD is the obvious prediction at the moment. :good

Let's see what AA will bring on the table when he get back to 160, though. I hope he will change his trainer but don't really believe it.

martinez would probably make this look pretty easy. also, i'm not sold on the fact that he was "killing" himself to make 160. prior to the super 6 his handlers made a big deal about his killing himself to make 160 as part of marketing and hyping aa for the tourney. now that he clearly can't compete with the top of the smw division, his team is saying that he wasnt totally committed to making 160 and would eat himself into a tough spot and that the weight shouldnt be an issue if he can control himself.

either way, sergio would pick him apart.

I think that AA went to SMW because Sauerland organised the S6 tournament.

AA is a bum and he is done. Even Sturm would outbox him easily.

A bum who was IBF champion, defended his title 10 times, (offering us on the way one or two of the most brutal KOs of recent years), and was ducked by Kelly Pavlik and Sturm, ... Yeah sure, he's such a ****ING BUM ! :patsch:patsch:patsch

Come on man, stop talking crap and go kill yourself.
