Probably McClellan, but I'm not sold on him as the winner. Could go either way.

Even more punching power and far better defense.

Gman smashes through that shell guard. Abraham is a good fighter but he has a bad style for this fight.

Gman ko's AA.... too much power! I know AA has a tough chin but i don't think it is Nigel Benn tough

This is just another example of the bias that because a fighter is from 10-20 years ago by default they must be better.

This, Gman would SMASH through AAs guard and DESTROY him is just too cute.
It's based off of little more than nostalgic emotions.

Yet another american history idolization. McClellan threw from 3 miles away. IF he can land those, of course he can win, but a fighter who gets hit all the time by that downtown shots should be shot anyways. Way too active ? Watch the fight with Jackson again, that's not barrages of punches, that's potshotting with long times of walking in between. I don't know what to say about that idolization that makes every american puncher in history a mixture of Floyd Mayweather with Tysons power and a Calzaghe workrate, who would "surely" tear through anything, man, animal or ghost.

That's fine, but I think G-Man's punching power (which he had without doubt) is not as huge as Benn's and imho - regarding this attribute - Benn and AA are on the same level. Benn was more active and was better in the technical department, but AA has the better defensive skills. Nevertheless, I'm leaning towards Mclellan, but only slightly, maybe it's a draw. AA is not as overrated as many guys on this forum believe. We'll see that if the SMW tournament happens...

It's sheer romanticism. Mclellan never KO'd a fighter with a chin- in fact, the only wins that could be called decent were over guys who'd been KO'd early and multiple times. He also didn't have the kind of resume to give him the extremely easy benefit of the doubt he's getting here- whenever he actually tried to box, he lost. Abraham would've had a field day countering inside of Mclellan's long, wide shots.

Benn is a SMW,he is irrelevant into the discussion.

I think both have tremendous power, due to their styles they finish opponents in different moments and ways(Abraham takes his time,McClellan went for the early kill).

Benn is a totally different animal than Abraham, very busy, exstatic, albeit running into lots of punches.

Yeah, a guy who wasn't down in his entire pro or amateur career, who fought 8 rounds with a puncher with a broken jaw losing half a gallon of blood, would lose by KO to a body punch thrown from a mile away telegraphed from hell and back. Immaculate logic, based on nothing but 'em fac's.
