Abraham will make quick work of Lorenzo. Gotta love the IBF. Lorenzo loses an IBF title eliminator. His next fight is once again an IBF title eliminator. If he'd have lost this fight, he might have had another title elimination fight next time out.
Not only did Lorenzo LOSE a title eliminator, he lost it to a guy who fought a draw with McKart one fight before the eliminatoratsch
That could always be interpreted as Lorenzo not knowing how to fight a southpaw, which is a legitimate problem for a lot of guys at his level. Anyway, Abraham destroys Lorenzo. Lorenzo has good size, that's about it.
You could be right about the southpaw business. Also, I probably shouldn't be to hard on Lorenzo just because Marquez had a draw with McKart.. Did you see Marquez/McKart? Two old guys who were both suppose to be "shot to ****" and they put on a pretty good fight.
That's right, Marquez didn't beat McKart. I remember the ring announcer for the fight saying Lorenzo was the IBF #1 ranked guy, and Marquez was ranked #13. I guess #2-12 couldn't be found for the fight.
Exciting but ultimately pointless (nothing much to gain for AA, especially with KP's scalp on the horizon; everything to lose for GL) - Abe within 6, no ifs ands or buts.
Well, I'm no Lorenzo apologist, but to be fair, Marquez and McKart are both exactly the kind of guys who can give a youngster fits. Cagey old ****ers with tons of experience, some of it at the highest levels of them game, and they're southpaws. However, I do think Lorenzo should have had to do something to earn another eliminator.
Lorenzo's "ticket" = "check" to being worthy for the repeated shots at the eliminator. I'm just being cynical I guess.
