Aggressive start by Romero, driving Masternak back with some overhands. Not too much landing, but making it interesting. Masternak now comes forward with straight accurate jabs and overhand rights to the face. Romero takes them well but is send scrambling to the outside. Romero shoves into Masternak until a break is called. Combo to the head by Masternak. Another. Left hook/right cross. Nice form. Romero waits on the outside. Double jab by Romero, stuffed into Masternak's throat as he pounces in. Masternak holds his left out high, measuring. Romero jumps under it and slashes at the body, missing. Masternak is stepping deftly around Romero, turning him and throwing quick shots...singles and small combos. Romero checks a jab on his right glove and grins confidently, but then drops it to expose his mouth and swallows a quick left hook.

Round 4

Romero comes lancing in, and is spun and countered by Masternak. Clubbing shot puts Romero down to his hands and knees. He gets up and beats the count, his pride hurt more than anything. HARD shooting-star overhand right by Masternak from outside. Another. Romero getting wobbled by stiff jabs now as Masternak stalks him. Romero tries to greet him with his own hard punches up top but Masternak's speed is telling.

Round 5

Masternak is tooling Romero over with jabs to the head on the outside. Romero is gamely trying to submerge and whack the body, but Masternak's movement and counters are too much for him. Long overhand rights by Masternak. Romero swings away with some gangly hooks, Masternak able to deflect them off his forearms. Punishing short counter hooks by Masternak, staying in front of Romero and slowly but surely taking the lead and coming forward. Jabs and rights by Masternak. Romero doesn't like to be backed up. He comes flying in with a high right hand off the ropes, easily arm-checked. Another big clubbing right by Romero, and Masternak rolls under it. Short hooks by Masternak.

Round 6

Masternak lands a few shots coming forward, but Romero puts up an argument and actually gets Masternak backing up to the ropes landing some probing high jabs to the face. Masternak blinks them off and circles out. Slapping hooks by Masternak catch Romero charging in. Clinch. Break. Jab to the guard by Masternak. Romero shuffles his feet. 1-2 by Masternak. Romero ties him up. Romero hops in place on the outside. Masternak comes forward, left arm low. Left hook to the body by Masternak ducking in. Right hand up top. Romero is hurt!! More quick chopping rights by Masternak! Trying to hold Romero in a corner, but the Mexican won't stay still. Romero dances away and throws his own wild overhand right. Masternak leans off to the side and slaps it away. Quick chopping right to the side of the head by Masternak. Double jab to the face by Masternak. Romero pushes into him, trying to hold. QUICK UPPERCUT DROPS ROMERO!!!
