Comparing GEZ to PPV is pretty dumb and about your prediction: everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

The rating looks more like when Felix Sturm is fighting a nobody a la Jamie Pittman. Last time I checked Abraham's ratings it was well between 5-6 million viewers.

It is, I think he averages 5.2 million, and that was before he blasted Miranda out in four. I would expect 6 million for this fight.

I don't think that the beating he gave Miranda the second time around plays such a big role in garnering more viewers b/c only around 0.4 million people watched it live here in Germany and around 2 million people watched the replay at 11 am CET.

The Miranda fight was mainly important for the US market to get his name on the landscape.

What I would call a clever move is that his fight vs. Marquez is pushed back about 15 minutes (so it starts around 11 pm CET/5 pm ET) as this weekend is the start of the new season of Europe's biggest TV Show called "Wetten Dass...?". The show gets ratings around 11-14 million viewers and most probably Abraham's fight vs. Marquez will directly follow the show (at least time-slot-wise as it aired on a differnt channel in Germany). So this could well provide some more viewers to watch the fight.

I could see them getting a bump of .8 million to hit the 6 million mark for this fight. Any word on how much AA is making?

No, but I guess it will be again around 600,000 Euro (about $800.000).

It's really crazy that Felix Sturm will make 1.2 million Euro (about $1.6 million) in his next fight and his opponent Sylvester is getting paid the money AA will receive for his fight vs. Marquez - but then again, it's an all-German clash so the media attention an the ratings should be much higher than for AA - Marquez (I expect somewhat around 8 million viewers).

I had it 50/50 but slightly leaning to Marquez on experience. Frankly though I can see Marquez outworking Abraham early on (as did Miranda in their last meeting) but to be honest, I see this one ending in similar fashion by KO between Rds 4-6. Abraham is a much heavier puncher than Lorenzo and Marquez is not a natural MW. Also since this is being shown in USA I think Abraham will be keen to put on another impressive performance to follow the Miranda one.

I expect dehydration effects as well... maybe coming in overweight for the first try? I hope not, but it's a tough job to come down and Marquez is a tough tough dude without weight problems.

I expect a competitive 12 round fight Abraham winning by a couple of points, maybe a late stoppage. But Marquez' workrate can give Abraham a lot of trouble.

I also expect an entertaining show. Those who live in the US show consider ordering the $25 PPV card because it's gonna be good.

Tom: why don't you add a public poll to the thread (usual who wins and how)?

The outcome is clear to 95% of the boxing public so a poll would be irrelevant IMO.

Btw, have you read the previews? I also found another one by Cliff Rold on B-scene...

Marquez has been stopped everytime he moves up in class. It's on Abraham to knock this guy out.

Well, there's gonna be at least a dozen Marquez-backers and we can give them credit if the old fox pulls out. :good

    Poll! Poll! Poll! :thumbsup
