Konečný is artfully maneuvering past Achour's jab, staying at mid-range and not really attacking like he was before. Achour whips a right up and over. Konečný takes advantage to shoot the gap with a double jab. Achour jabs into Konečný's gloves. Soft right downstairs by Achour. Slapping hooks to the head by Konečný as Achour leans down into him. Konečný throws away a diversion jab and loops in a right hand, but Achour pulls back at the last second to dodge. High jab by Konečný, pushing it.

Jones gave Achour the 8th. I believe he now has it 5-3 Konečný.

Round 9

Konečný is circling without punching. Achour whips in a right and turns over a high left hooks. Everything washes up on Konečný's arms, but he throws nothing back. More rights and hooks from Achour coming forward. Konečný slides outside and lines up a 1-2, catching Achour flush on the chin. Big shot, but Achour shakes it off and keeps coming. Konečný jabs on the back foot, then abruptly switches to lateral movement going right. Time out called by the ref. They invite the ringside physician up on the ring apron. He examines Konečný's flesh and determines it to be acceptably intact enough for more pugilism. Time in. Achour lobs up a few pinball-flippers to the body, then steps out and flurries straight. Konečný blocks and moves forward behind his jab. Konečný now circles right and catches Achour's jabs on his forearms, sticking his own when Achour retracts his arm. Right hand by Konečný.

Well, he is hardly tackling a monster at 160. It's a feather fist gatekeeper in a vacant WBO European title contest.

I wouldn't like to see him against real middleweight threats, but Lukas has paid enough dues to collect a trifling piece of kitsch to decorate his mantlepiece. If he wants a minor title at MW, I say more power to him and don't begrudge him taking a soft touch in order to get one.

 

Round 10

Konečný is catching Achour pulling back with the straight far-flung jab, then hammering down with the right hand. Achour is shaking his head and dismissing the shots, but is held off by them and clearly a bit rollicked by Konečný's heavy hands. Achour pushes the jab in retreat, but stays close enough to hit.

Lukas seems oblivious to rivulets of blood pouring down the left side of his face. Clearly it hasn't begun to drip into his lids and affect his vision.

 

Round 11

Konečný is ducking under jabs with forward steps and hooking the belly. Achour slaps over the top with his right, looking for that cut. Konečný backs up and jabs. Achour backhands a few wrist-flick jabs into Konečný's gloves stepping in. Overhand right by Konečný, landing atop the head. Achour pulls straight back to dodge another one. The next one lands while Achour is leaning in looking for a body shot. Jab between the gloves by Achour. They jab at the same time and knock each other's fists aside. Quick 1-2 by Konečný, catching Achour daydreaming as they circle. Konečný's cut has opened up considerably in the last minute. Jabs to the body by Konečný. He puts his forearms up and leans into Achour, bracing to push off while ducking a flurry. Konečný trots a full circle around Achour.

Ooh, Achour billy-goated him in the 11th! Slow motion replay shows premeditation.

Round 12

Konečný is leaning forward, covering up as Achour slaps down at his back with both hands. Konečný jabs up between Achour's gloves and then hooks around them without ever pulling his left arm back. They wrestle in the middle of the ring, both pushing with their arms overhead. Head bump. The ref calls time. He waves it off.

I'll assume it's going to the scorecards including the partial twelfth and not a TKO...
