If this guy was a real champion, he would be in USA right now, calling out the winner of tomorrows fight. But he is not, is he? He's never gonna step up, believe me.
I have been cheering for Arthur since he beat Ikeke. I can't hold it much longer, this is a boxing travesty... I'm disappointed.
That's sad for the middleweight division then, that a paper champion is a better fighter than the current or former "lineal" champ.
At least he's been fighting better opponents than Felix Sturm. I expect Arthur to come over to the states later this year, debut on HBO, and eventually Pavlik/Abraham will take place.
That's insane...I had never stopped to really absorb the fact that most of the TV audience here doesn't even know who he is. I sometimes forget there are different levels of commitment to the sport, and that not everybody has ESB, boxrec, and sopcast bookmarked.
That MAY be true, and Arthur is a GOOD fighter, but his championship don't mean **** if he ain't fighting any worthy opponents, is it? If he wants to be the best, he's gonna have to fight the best, right?
That's true...casual US boxing fans have no clue who Abraham is. But they didn't know Mikkel Kessler either until he fought Andrade on HBO. Abraham is exciting, strong, and powerful. If they showcased him against a good opponent, and he won in impressive fashion, people would get to see him and the interest level would grow. Two or three fights by impressive knockouts and Pavlik/Abraham would be in high demand.
