Arthur Abraham's KO of Wayne Elcock (VIDEO)

Arthur is training for power,he has become bigger, more muscular. I dont know if its good, his power increased but his workrate and stamina have decreased significantly.

 

I was gonna say that his power never looked that good before....but damn is it looking fantastic now. Although if his stamina has decreased significantly then Pavlik would catch him in the later rounds (given it makes it to them)

 

Abraham is top draw, def deserves a crack the the top man, thing is i doubt these German promoters are bothered if theor 'champ' is the top man or not...

 

And his promoter is talking about the US and Pavlik, too. He never talked about Calzaghe when Ottke was a titleholder. I do believe that they really want a shot at Pavlik.

 

Give Taylor a little time to recover mentally from the Pavlik fight and correct some basic mistakes, and I think he beats Abraham. It would be a hell of a fight though.

 

From the video at the top, I actually thought he didn't have that snap you need to get past some of the quick counter-punchers. Hits heavy, yeap - but think he'd suffer against a fast, technical boxer.

 

Not really , dude looked more exhausted then anything else before the stoppage .

If you look at the sires of event before the 8 count was given , Elcock was doing his best to hide the fact that he was sucking wind, No doubt Abrahams saw this and moved in for the kill.

 

Do you see how open Abraham is after he's throwing punches? That's terrible, he and Wegner better work on that before travelling to the US...

 

An answer for fighting passive:

Due to a german newspaper Abraham fought with two broken ribbs he got from a sparring accident. Because of that he did no right hook.

Abraham doesn't have devastating one-punch power and Elcock has a glass chin, so this fight isn't a good one to judge his power by. I think he does have an alright chance against Pavlik though.. maybe 30%. Pavlik is very hittable, but so is he. Pavlik has the size/power advantage and that's what would decide the fight.

 

Elcock is simply not top level...and I remember watching a past it, lazy as always Eastman win several rounds and rock Abraham in a crap fight a while back. Abraham landed flush numerous times but was wide open and every time Eastman bothered to throw shots he landed easily and won the round. But he spent most of the fight just wandering around in his usual lethargic manner and lost on points.

Abraham looks too easy to hit and Pavlik would have a big reach advantage and should win by stoppage. But Abraham does have the power to stop Pavlik but whether he would be able to get past the jab and power of Pavlik to actually land much is another question.

Some are forgetting that Pavlik was dropped by feather-fisted Taylor - if Abraham lands, it's lights out Kelly. Abraham also has huge self-belief and a pretty tight defence (tends to wait for the opponent to come onto him).

The person that said Abraham has power but lacks everything else made me laugh. You could have easily been describing Pavlik
