a Pavlik/AA fight is worth much more than 2mil....AA is low-ballin himself to try to make this fight happen....if it doesn't happen then Pavlik is a *****...

It is worth what people will pay for it. Period. Economics 101. The German posters have said Kelly won't draw in Germany and HBO says no one knows AA here. You come up with the money and produce the fight if it is that easy.

Where did I say he didn't have talent?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I said he's a good fighter, but your Calzaghes, Hopkins, Kesslers, Dawsons, etc etc would tear him a new ******* ten times out of ten. Its a fact. He is there to be mugged if he ever comes up against someone who can box superbly and effortlessly.

Oh wait, you're right, Kelly is the defintion of the sweet science.

    Jab jab pop

we need to change tactics Kelly....

    Ok

    Jab Jab pop

    Give me a break.

That's wrong, that's what Bob Arum says. Maybe someone like Rafael from ESPN should interview the people in charge at HBO to get first hand information about what they think about Abraham's drawing power in the US.
I just tell you b/c whenever HBO's showing a fight in the mw/smw limit, they mention Abraham and show pictures of him...

I don't get cable so I just look for, em, other sources afterwards and skip the stuff that isn't fights, so I don't know. I do wonder if they are doing Pac/Hatton in May if they will want this fight in May/Early June though? That might really be the issue for that date.

Arum is hesitant on putting his cow in there with AA plain and simple...

Promotion is his job. IF he has the opportunity to get Pavlik in with Sturm first, this is the far better promotional move. We know Sturm won't fight Abraham. If Pavlik beats Abraham, you think Sturm will still want the Pavlik fight? We know Kelly and Abraham wants the fight. We know they both want to unify. I really wonder if Abraham would prefer Kelly fight Sturm first so the fight would be for ALL the belts? I'd have loved to be in that meeting between Arum and Saurland.

Who did Kessler and Dawson ever beat that Kelly couldn't? Seriously, they're all world-class fighters.

Again, what has AA done that Kelly hasn't? Beat Miranda in a sloppy slugfest? That's his greatest achievement. Stop hating.

I'd like to see KP take out Sturm first. That way Pavlik AA is even more juicy, and it gives Pavlik an opportunity to slowly step back up to top-level fighting. Plus, as you say, Pavlik vs. AA and then the winner fighting Sturm is ultimate Bathos, whereas the other way round makes financial, sporting and common sense.

Nope...it's a better promotional move to put Pavlik in with the guy that would make the most money and attract the most attention...and at 160 that guy is AA...Felix Sturm? isn't that the same guy who lost to a fat DLH?

You really are trying to be dense here aren't you. Most people say Sturm was robbed. Sturm makes the Abraham fight bigger. Use something called "foresight" hear. It is shortsighted to focus on one of the two belts knowing that going after AA first means the 4th will probably resort to shelling up in Germany like he has for some years now. People on this board and making up the "supposed" hard core boxing fans aren't the ones buying the majority of the tickets. Your argument is breaking down into the equivalent of a two year olds temper tantrum. I WANT, I WANT, I WANTI WANT, and making your arguments to fit. Abraham first, Sturm second? :patsch

how in the hell does Pavlik fighting Felix 'i got destroyed by Javier Castillejo' Sturm build up a fight with AA? if anything AA should destroy Sturm in Germany then come over here to fight Pavlik...but how does Pavlik fighting Sturm make more sense than fighting AA? if Pavlik fights anyone from Germany right now it has to be AA...period

Everybody knows your point, and mostly agree. The thing is though, we ALL know that Sturm has declined to fight AA. So that's out. OK.

But, recently Sturm has shown interest in fighting Pavlik. The line of thinking is, take it while you can!! you know?? The point Hermit and others are trying to make should be pretty easy to see, that IF Pav and AA get it on, Sturm will not fight either one of them afterward. Where as right now, Pavlik has a foot in the door.

    Take it while you can....
