You miss the point. I find mat work as boring as you do to wathc and I'm a ****ing black belt in Judo. I'm not a fan of MMA. I actually fought for rule changes in Judo becasue it was begining to look too much like MMA and not enouhg like traditional Judo. My side won the argument by the way.

But I do realize that they are structured better than boxing. And there is a lot to be said of a sport where the fighters aren't allowed to duck each other, there are only a few weight classes, and only one champoin. I really wish boxing woudl do the same.

The UFC ranking really suck but everything else is good. The only problem i have with lesnar being a champ is he only needed one win to get a title shot. Yes he was a WWE wrestler but before that he was a real wrestler. The UFC heavyweights are pretty weak right now with couture-noguiera being past prime and arlovski and sylvia no longer with ufc.

That's why lesnar is the king right now. It's kinda like the klits in boxing. the division is so weak that nobody can beat them.

You got these mother ****ers who ain't never been in a fight and think they can just break down the sport...

This guy is as bad as some of the posters on this site...

They don't know **** about boxing, and just see two men in the ring throwing punches at each other...

And the guy says that some people try and take punches to land one...

Ain't nobody does that ****...unless they're garbage and don't move...

I didn't see Tyson takin punch after punch to get to his targets, he moved...

I would love to see this ***** ass mother ****er in the ring...

I wasnt talking about the tyson-lewis fight. I was talking about the ****ing brawl duing the press conference. What happened? Did they counter each others attempted takedowns with pinpoint accurate shots?

Hell no. They wrestled each other to the ground and Tyson bit Lewis' leg. Thats what happens. Two of the greatest boxers of their generation got into a real fight and it went to the ground in seconds. If someone wants to tackle you there is very little you can do.

I get where you're coming from, but you see...most people don't know how to box.

You wouldn't break your hand because you would already be lower than your opponent and likely you would throw an uppercut or a staight and move...

And it works because sometimes you got fighters who wanna smother you, like a wrestler, and you pop them and move and they don't got time to make the adjustments or hold you...

I disagree with Lesnar being able to beat any boxer.

If he can beat any boxer, then you're saying he can't be beat because nobody is going to out wrestle him.

If anything, his kryptonite would be a powerful striker that can move because he comes in squared up, has horrendous stand up, and he needs to get you on the ground to win.

So why wouldn't you give any boxer a chance when really they would have the only chance as long as they could avoid the takedown OR get up.

Unless you really believe that Lesnar is the greatest fighter of all time.

Vitor Belfort was krpytonite to many fighters in the past that outweight him considerbly because they couldn't keep up with his speed and his punches were sharp, but this is a guy who was incredibly one dimensional, didn't have great movement and didn't amount to **** at boxing.

If you got handspeed, and some size, and you can hit hard enough to knock a man out, if you hit and move, you can beat Brock.

What makes people think that these MMA guys are unbeatable are the lack of quality strikers because guys that are good at striking take up boxing.

They've been bred for it...it's in their blood and they're not about to abort it.

I didn't say he cant be beat. I said I would give him the edge. I dont care who it is I'll put my money on the champoin amature wrestler over the boxer every time and I'd be a rich man in the end. IMHO we are talking a 70-30 favorite here, I'll put my money on those odds every time and twice on sundays.

    That's your opinion.

I've seen Tyson knock people out with one punch that were 230 lbs and ripped and better athletes than anybody I've seen in MMA.

So, yeah, I would put my money on a wrestler against a shitty fighter that calls himself a boxer anyday, but no way would I bet on a guy that's ascared to get hit against an elite boxer.

Look I like boxing more than MMA but Mercer got choked out in 30 seconds by toughman Kimbo Slice in his only other MMA fight. Not to mention George Foreman became heavyweight champion of the world at 45 so Mercer knocking out Tim Sylvia(a stand up only fighter) at 50 doesn't exactly show me anything.

There was no credit at the bottom of the article, sure it wasn't initialed DW?

That been said, as far as which sport is better is simply anyone's own personal opinion and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

In boxing, there are absolutely no restrictions, anybody can fight anybody.

In MMA, the best MMA organization in the world refuses to cross-promote and because of this true MMA fans are missing out on watching some of the best fights in the sport.

UFC has a monopoly on MMA, i'm not sure if thats a good thing or not.

In boxing, above 160 there are just as many weight classes as MMA. Boxing has alot of weight classes among the lighter weights because they are absolutely essential.
