What he probably meant was that he won't every do business with Arum again when he has a fighter like COtto or Margarito who would brutally knock me out.

Floyd later back tracked on that statement. He will do business with Arum if the money is right.

 

If he indeed does come back right now after such a long layoff it's likely that he'll take the path of least resistance and opt for a fight with the smaller man, Juan Manuel Marquez.

 

Wonder if he'll demand $20 million guaranteed for Marquez like he did for Mosley. That was a clever way to price himself out of a Mosley fight - one that he clearly does not want because he could likely get knocked out.

 

The $20 million demand was to get back at Shane. Shane once demanded $10 million to fight Floyd back in like 2000. Floyd was making about $200k a fight at that time. The fact of the matter is, Shane has turned down numerous chances to fight Floyd. He only actively went after Floyd when Floyd had a bigger payday lined up against Hatton. Shane still could've gotten a fight with Floyd had he not lost to Cotto. It's ridiculous that Shane spent years avoiding little Floyd and then everyone jumps on Shane's cause when he finally expresses a real desire to fight Floyd. No way in hell would Shane knock out Floyd. Floyd is not going to stand in front of him and eat punches all night like Margo.

You're absolutely right here, Reg...Shane has turned down Floyd on more than one occasion.

It's not the Margarito fight...completely different style match-up. That fight really has no relevance here.

Judging by his freakish performance against Margarito, I am almost posititve that Shane is on the "clear" again. He hasn't looked this good since he was on it the first time.
