Remember this morning when I compared the three way stand off between Fedor, Overeem and Werdum to the scene in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" where Clint Eastwood has emptied the gun of one of his two gunslinging rivals in advance of the big showdown? Well Iole's remark about "Mayweather in Wonderland" kind of jogged my brain and reminded me why I posted that This content is protected back in April. Because even if Fedor's manager Vadim Finkelstein isn't This content is protected " he certainly knows his way around Wonderland. While I've long been sympathetic to the need for fighters to have more autonomy and have sometimes openly rooted for Fedor and M-1 in their effort to land blows against the UFC empire, these Mayweather-style antics remind me why the boxing model is not a good road to go down for the UFC. UPDATE: For the record and since so many of you are falling for M-1's feeble spin, I'm 100% in support of WADA style drug testing for ALL MMA fighters. I'm for random testing of licensed fighters between fights and I'm for serious punishment for fighters who fail multiple tests. And unlike many of you, I'm willing to pay a surcharge for my PPVs and tickets to pay for the testing. I'll also bravely advocate that all promoters take a 10% pay cut to cover the additional costs. But M-1 doesn't care about testing. They fought Tim Sylvia -- who's failed a drug test -- and signed to fight Josh Barnett -- who failed 2 drug tests BEFORE he failed the CSAC test that cancelled their Affliction fight -- and said nary a word about drug testing. They were talking about fighting Antonio Silva -- who's failed drug test -- and again, not a peep about drug tests. Furthermore, up until the point that Overeem announced that he would be fighting K-1 the rest of the year they were saying that "the fans want Fedor vs Werdum". Frankly this is all a big excuse to screw Strikeforce and take the biggest payday in front of them -- NYE in Japan at Dynamite!! likely against Josh Barnett. Mark my words, there will be no discussion of drug testing from M-1 if that fight is signed.

Overeem is stupid not to know people question his build. This is the perfect opportunity to show he is clean. Blood, urine, saliva need to be done randomly at any time of the year on all champions and top contenders. It was only a few days ago that I read in Fighting Fit that they did a test and proved that guys on hormones can beat urine testing.
I think no one really believes Alistair is clean. No way you can build a body like that in that "short" time.
He didn't build it in a short space of time though. Overeems been at fighting as a heavy for some time. That said he should just take the test.
