bob ayrum is smart whether negotiations did or did not happen. Putting out a deadline in the public for Floyd is enough to fool the casual person and media about how bad he supposedly wanted the fight. It was a good move to cover his AZZ and justify making a fight against someone else; last time they run away from negotiations to cherrypick Clottey, that failed.

nobody has any problems like this until arum is involved...it seemed from day 1 that arum was up to soome shady stuff but people are intent on blaming floyd...with that being said, if no negotiations were going on then why did everybody ignore the media (except arum) for this long period of time? u figure someone would come out and say "this dude is full of crap"

Evidently Bob has LOTS of influence in the boxing media.

Boxing isn't covered like other sports..so there is no scrutiny in how it's reported.

If people were making **** up about Floyd and negotiations, don't you think he himself would come out and make some ten-minute interview insulting everyone involved and claiming all roads lead to him and that he's gonna woop Pacquiao's ass once he takes tests yadda yadda, or at least someone from his camp? I just don't see it, especially with Oscar's quote.

It sounds like negotiations were half-assed and slow, and both sides are trying to save face by either making them sound fictitious or more solid than they really were.

Well this makes sense, because lets see what we essentially know:

Bob Arum never spoke to a GBP or Mayweather rep. He claims he only talked to Ross Greenburg(HBO).

Leonard Ellerbe claims that Golden Boy and Mayweather Promotions officers are in constant contact and had never received one bit of info from either HBO or Top Rank.

Nobody can answer what the contract said, especially in regards to the blood testing.

The deadline didn't make any bit of sense. it was done purely for show.

All the information regarding the progress of the 'negotiations' came from Bob Arum.

So what it seems like is that Bob Arum once again lead the media along, then put on a show of the deadline, and is now selling this crap of Margarito-Pacquiao to the *******s that were eating out of Bob's hand the entire way. Bob had no intentions of ever working with Mayweather. Why should he when he can make just as much from having Pacquiao fight in house so that he can collect a double promoter fee?

P.S. Bob Arum will never ever put Cotto in with Mayweather.

There was never any plan for this fight for this year. Simple as that. Arum never wanted the fight this year, that's why he's pushing for Cotto rematch or Margarito.

More money is to be made next year after he can milk margarito and cotto for two more paydays with Manny.

And with that, this will be my last post for awhile.

    Take Care.

Calling Marley a friend of Bob Arum or a Top Rank insider is REALLY stretching things. The two have had a pretty long-running feud, dating all the way back to when Arum had guards physically kick him out of a press conference.

If he was saying something about Frank Warren, that would be a different story.

Pretty much. Dude is one of the least credible boxing scribes around. Teddy Atlas called him a low-life in an interview earlier this year.

I just came back from the VA(veterans affairs) medical center... I gave 5 vials of blood for 5 different tests.
I had no food in my stomach and the only thing I feel now is a little stiffness in my elbow where they drew it.

I could go give some more right now, no problem.

I asked the dude taking my blood "is 5 vials gonna do anything to me?" seeing as I only ever gave 2 before. He goes "no, do you feel weak?" I said "no, not at all, just never filled 5 of those things up before" then he goes "I once took 18 from an old man and he was fine, that's my record 18"

In hindsight, I'm starting to think manny pacquiao is being a little over dramatic about giving blood.

If I had to go in again and do it every day for 2 weeks I wouldn't even care.

I'm not saying if manny said yes initially to the blood demands that the fight would have happened, but I can't logically follow the 2 vials will weaken me logic anymore. he should have said yes to it all regardless.

Look Arum had no interest in fighting Floyd PERIOD. I said that from the start and no one would listen. It doenst that a very smart person to know that in a fight at this level you dont make any committments until you have the fighters on broad. Arum committed to a date and a venue before he had fighters. Floyd once said no to Dallas and would have likely said no again. So why if Arum wanted the fight would he make the deal with Jones. Its that simple, that is all the proof I need that Arum had other plans all along. Anyone remember the post I made of the conversation between Arum and Pac some time ago. I called that this would happen at the start of the month:good
