I have no quarrel with you. my point was simple. don't regard all writers from the philippines as second rate or automatic pac nuthuggers. some of them love the sport too. not just pac.

i wasn't giving you an english lesson either sir. i was telling you the proper way of referring to us. when one writer says pac will beat duran, it does not mean that all filipino boxing fans think so.

a perfect example of an incompetent writer. he just presented his conclusion without giving analysis and facts to support his claim.

a bloody hell of a fight.
duran by UD. (Unless ref would stop the fight)

i read the article again. it makes less and less sense every time i read it. he just basically said that pac would beat duran without bothering to tell exactly why he thought so. weird stuff.

If Duran was a lightweight today, he'd be madly offended that a fighter the qualities of Pacquiao moving up, could even fathom competing in a ring with him.

When Duran moved up to lightweight to fight a name like Ray Leonard, he was possesed to destroy him.....and Leonard is one of the better welterweights ever.

What Duran would do to Manny Pacquiao if he was around today, would be something to behold......

I have no question in my mind that Duran would play with Pacquiao like a cat would with a mice......

Has anybody here seen JC Chavez vs Greg Haugen????

Haugen so annoyed JC Chavez, that Chavez held back a few rounds and castigated him before stopping him......
....Chavez castigated Haugen, but let him off the hook and put a stop to matters when he realized that Haugen was just a dumb stupid punk that had opened his big mouth......Chavez felt sorry for Haugen, and put a halt to matters in around the 5th round.

Duran would not be so gentle. Duran would be thinking, how dare this **** think he could beat Roberto Duran!!!:yep

Multiply the castigating beatdown Chavez bestowed upon poor Greg Haugen by 10, and I'm not exaggerating......Duran would ride Manny Pacquiao until he made him cry uncle, castigating him along the way every which way......
.....and if Manny Pacquiao was man enough and fighter enough to absorb the beating without quiting, Duran would make sure to brutaly knock him out in the last round.

Duran as a lightweight was the Devil himself.....
....anyway you cut it, Duran wins this fight by way of TORTURE!!!

both of these guys love to fight. pacquiao will end up being a bloody mess in this fight due to him not giving up and duran would give him the most brutal beating ever in his career!

It would not be a contest my friend.....
.....despite Duran just being one of the better skilled boxer/punchers in history, he would not only be too good for Manny Pacquiao, he'd be too big for him.

This lightweight matchup would be like man vs boy!

The reason that I put in the terms that I did in my original post in this thread, is that Duran would be highly motivated to fight someone as hyped as Manny Pacquiao has been thoughout the last several years.
It was that type of motivation that led to his underdog victory over Ray Leonard, stepping up in weight!

Btw, where the hell has PacDbest been around.....I'm suprised he's not in this thread sullying it with, "Quitter's dont beat Manny Pacquiao!":yep

In a Pac vs Arguello thread, PacDbest's assertion was something to the effect that Arguello would quit just like he did against Aaron Pryor!:rofl :rofl :rofl

Please, just make sure that you remember that it was a writer and not pac himself who said it. pac would not disrespect a legend. he is too good of a man to do that
