    Of course my friend!

My emphatic but honest assertions are meant for the *******s to eat.
I just want to give them a hard dose of reality.
My deep respects to Manny Pacquiao. I do realize he's a down to earth type individual who cares for his fellowman, and I deeply admire at how he cares for and represents his countrymen!:thumbsup

Duran is not that invincible at LW. He happens to just have weak competition. When he moved up in weight he got pummelled by the guys there.

    ????

When he moved up, he beat one of the best ever welterwts and fought a close fight with one of the best ever middlewts.

He went on to win the middlewt title against a reasonably good and very big Iran Barkley, who later boxed at heavywt.

Lets just put certain things in perspective here. Everytime Pac has been given no chance he has stepped up. In fact he not only stepped up but obliterated the opposition. Yes Duran is a legend (he's in my top 12 all-time p4p), but to say that he treats Pac like a Tijuana cab driver is ridiculous. Pac is still making his legend. The consenus here is that Pac would not have a chance. Especially coming from that Divac character. I say Pac being the heavy underdog gives him even more of a chance. Even worse, people here are saying he's gonna get KO'd and just totally outclassed? Has that actually happened to Pac? Even when he's in a stylistic disadvantage he's managed to pull out wins (one offical). Why you say? Hmmmm....maybe because Pac himself is a future p4p ATG. In that sense, don't give me this bull that Duran just walks through him.

I mean guys come on and BE REAL.........

Manny is a GREAT fighter and is very explosive, but all he has is a FAST 1-2 and that's gonna beat Roberto "freaking" Duran.:patsch :verysad

That's why these boards have gone to hell and is not as respected....This Forum used to be the best, but it's just TOO MANY dumb subjects that honestly belongs in the Fantasy Department......

The most obvious thing that works in Pac's favor is that Duran will be there to get hit. Duran isn't a cutsie in the mold of JMM or PBF. Pac gets alotta criticism for not putting MAB away the 2nd time and almost losing to JMM the 2nd time. What needs to be said is that neither of those 2 decided to stand-up to Pac and trade. Despite that he still won. That'll be no problem with Duran. He will be mano-e-mano with Pac. Obviously this plays well with Pac's strengths, ie--straight punches in bunches. The x-factor obviously is how Pac takes Duran's punches(especially the bodyshots) and vice-versa. But in a toe-to-toe battle, the reason Pac always does well is that he throws his punches faster and straighter than his opponents. Thus the likelihood of him connecting first with a monster shot. Duran's gotta great beard, but Pac's straight left we can all agree has a great track record. How Duran holds up to Pacs straight left and how Pac holds up to Durans bodywork. With this fantasy matchup, those are the big "what-ifs".

With that said, I will still favor Duran. He's naturally bigger and he has shown more than Pac at this point against bigger names. I'm thinking he can eat a couple more straight lefts than other Pac opponents and by this, has a higher likelihood of inflicting more damage to Pac. My opinion could change soon though. This is contingent of course on the next Pac fight I watch in which a bigger foe stands toe-to-toe with him. That'll be in a month and we can reassess how Pac's power translates against a naturally bigger guy. For now I will pick Duran in a close fight of attrition in which a bloodied Pac loses a MD. However Duran is not leagues away from Pac. Anyone who thinks so is just a blind Pachater. In fact I'll go on a limb here and say Pac if he plays his cards right, will soon be right alongside Duran in legendary status in a couple years time.
