I think Beterbiev looked crude on Saturday.

He's Russian, that's a fact, you can't consider yourself not to be Russian and therefore you're not, either you are or aren't.

I am afraid, I did not find Beterbiev entirely convincing in the Page fight. At least he seems to have realized he needs to learn a lot, if he's to get to the top. Will continue to follow his career with great interest.

    Thanks mate, I appreciate it.

Been a big fan of Beterbiev since when I saw him compete at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. He's still very raw but he has scary power in either hand. He's definitely worth keeping an eye on as he got the potential to really make a lot of noise at LHW and maybe CW too if moved at the right pace. His handlers need to let him gain more pro experience to iron out some of his defensive flaws instead rushing him to a title shot, IMO.

I'm not a Dirrell fan I'm afraid. What he said about Bute after he lost to Froch really rubbed me up the wrong way. He sent out a tweet mocking him for not being able to make it back to his own corner unassisted. Bute always been a really classy and respectful guy, even in defeat, and that was just totally uncalled for by Dirrell. He is a talented fighter though and I suspect there's a pretty good chance he'll go onto pick up a world title at some point in the not too distant future. :good

He was too eager to impress and score a quick finish and it made him sloppy. After watching the KD at the end of the first numerous times from various different angles, it's clear to me now that it was just a balance issue. His feet and body were in a terrible position after the push by Page and there's no way he could've not gone down after shipping the right hand that followed it because of that.

In 2015 Stevenson. In 2016 it's going to be the time for Kovalev to give all those belts to Beterbiev.

Yeah, he was absolutely fine. He was just embarrassed he'd taken a tumble.

Page actually looks to be pretty skilled and athletic. He displayed some nice foot work, feints, and moves in there. He had a really good game plan and he was executing it well in the first round too. That said, he looked absolutely ridiculous winking and blowing kisses at the camera during his ring walk and the ring announcements.

If Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev beats pascal, than stevenson in 2015. We are talking top 5-10 Lhw Atg. If he then beats beterbiev, hes basically the greatest, this LHW era is stacked with decent, and very dangerous fighters.

lol at Jean Pascal sticking the boot in on ''Aducknis Chickenson''

'Jean Pascal called Adonis Stevenson’s four knockdown, fifth-round stoppage of Dmitry Sukhotsky on Friday a “mismatch on paper and in the ring.”

A former RING and WBC light heavyweight champion himself, Pascal later referred to the current RING champ as, “Aducknis Chickenson,” out of his belief that his fellow Canadian resident has avoided premier competition.

Not only did Pascal make light of Stevenson’s performance, but he also implied that his countryman might lose to unbeaten Artur Beterbiev, who rose from a first-round knockdown and scored three of his own in a second-round stoppage win on the Stevenson-Sukhotsky undercard.

“Stevenson had the kind of performance you should expect in a mismatch. It was a mismatch on paper and in the ring,” said Pascal of Stevenson, who went 4-0, all knockouts, in 2013.

“If he has another voluntary defense, I would love to see him fight Beterbiev. I think that’s the only way he can save face and start to rebuild his image, which for some reason he felt like destroying in 2014.”

Stevenson signed with adviser Al Haymon in February and left HBO for rival network Showtime in March, presumably to pursue a shot at Bernard Hopkins. Stevenson’s exodus led then-WBO Kovalev to lament “a lost opportunity to knock out” Stevenson.

Ironically, Hopkins left Showtime for last month’s HBO-televised unification bout with Kovalev, whose unanimous decision added Hopkins’ IBF and WBA belts to his WBO title.

Most recently, Pascal passed up an opportunity for a mandatory shot at Stevenson in order to challenge Kovalev, which he will do on HBO on March 14.

Nicknamed “Superman,” Stevenson scored a unanimous decision victory against Andrezej Fonfara in May, but had to rise from the canvas in the ninth round to do it.

Stevenson’s four knockouts in 2013 were against Darnell Boone (a rematch of Stevenson’s only loss, in 2010), Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud and Tony Bellew.

Meanwhile, the WBC has mandated that Stevenson face the winner of Kovalev-Pascal.

“It’s great that the WBC has gotten in on trying to force Adonis to make a real fight,” said Pascal, who, like Stevenson, is of Haitian descent. “Hopefully, he doesn’t vacate the title if the time ever arrives for him to fight the winner between Kovalev and myself. One never knows with Aducknis Chickenson, he may look for a rubbermatch with Darnell Boone.”

I'm really looking forward to seeing Beterbiev again.

I still can't believe he fought Cloud after just 5/6 fights.

I didn't realise he'd beaten Kov in the amateurs too.

I didn't know that Dirrell had said that to Bute. I don't like hearing about things like that. A close friend of mine has been in Bute's company a few times, and he's told me what a great guy he is.
