I'd have to see the in-ring weight for Beterbiev before making such evaluations. On paper he seems lighter than Louis and he doesn't, imho, have the same punch for punch power as Louis. On the other hand his footwork and workrate seem to me to be a lot better. I think he'd deal with the slippery types better than Louis. Conversely, I'm not sure about how he'd do against the big bruisers.
Well, I think Beterbiev has proven his own longevity and consistency at the elite level against guys roughly the same size as those who Louis fought, and I don't believe there's much of a disparity in skill between their opposition overall quite honestly. Beterbiev seems more agile than Louis and I think would fare better than Louis did against the cute mover-types.
Hi Buddy. Nice to hear from you. When you say " better " than Louis, not thinking Joe was lauded for his footwork, unlike the Rays, or a young Ali, I suppose the way he closed the distance could be labeled great footwork, after all he was described at the time as shuffling Joe, moreover his hand speed was was truly exceptional, the triple left hooks he hit Bear with was breathtaking. stay safe buddy, chat soon.
I see nothing to convince me otherwise. He cuts the ring off extremely well with no wasted movement and is never off balance. He also gets sneaky angles.
Max Baer would blast Beterbiev outta there. Ezzard Charles as well, should I go on? Or does a win over ,,,Bivol,, inspire such confidence that he'd beat heavyweight contenders? Hell, First I'd like to see Beterbiev come to Bob Foster, Qawi and Matthew Saad Muhammed
Well his steroid use certainly is, unless you think it's natural to have more testosterone at age 39 than 21
