A few things that can help repair these kinds of injuries are HGH and testosterone.
Luckily Beterbiev seems to be blessed with abnormal amounts of these substances quite naturally.

I have torn meniscus muscles on both of my knees. One of the injuries was a lot more sever than the other.
And I have yet to fully recover after a decade. But, after a short period the second, milder tear healed quite well. I could not do any real long distance running but I could partake in my regular boxing raining. I just had to be a bit careful because some exercises could cause pain.

So, Beterbiev could realistically return this year without much of an issue if he treats it properly. However he will carry this injury with him for the rest of his life.

Bivol could very well be Beterbiev’s last fight should he win or lose come fight night. There’s no reason for him to keep fighting and taking more punishment while hurting himself in training at age 40.

hopefully this isn't a Sergio Martinez situation and he falls off a cliff in terms of physicality and is a shell of himself before the big fight with Bivol

I’m sure these injuries come from all that explosive weight training he’s been doing over the years. I follow his socials and the guy lifts heavy way too much for someone as injury prone as him. Just check out this fairly recent video of him:

Same, had a menial meniscal tear in high school, ended up having two separate arthroscopies on it and ultimately wound up removing the majority of cartilage under my right patella.

I don't think people are grasping the gravity of this. We could see him back in the ring by year's end, sure - but we just easily could not see him in the ring again.

I am absolutely gutted for Bivol who I believe wins via Points.

Too slick a Boxer to get drawn and caught. I figure he'll use the game plan he used v Canelo of In and Out when they eventually meet.

I like Artur too but Bivol just that little bit more due to his skills.

Yeah i've watched all those videos of him training and I agree, it's overkill, this is boxing not strongman. Against Bivol he would have had the size and strength advantage regardless so he didn't need to be doing all that. They had enough prior warning from all the previous injuries so, no-one to blame but themselves for this.

You're right about it being a tough injury for a boxer to recover from. I tore my meniscus three times in my right knee all from throwing straight right hands. I finally stopped boxing after the last one.

There's something cursed over the big fights this year. Well, Fury was always looking for a way out of facing Usyk, but this is a very hard blow.

As others have said, we don't know what kind of Beterbiev is going to come out of this. I hope he dopes up to his ****ing eye balls to get as good a recovery as possible. To get an injury like this is always tough, but at his age it could be a killer.

Not that he uses his feet very much anyway.
