The man is 33 years old Domestic / Euro level at best. What steps ? 175 is strong divison and Callum Johnson probably cant even beat tough gatekeepers like Chilemba yet he is in world title fight now instead. There are levels. Even if he losses can bounce back easily to his Domestic level scene and get some fights. Yarde on the other hand might not be special but he is 27 years old and still got some time to develop while C.Johnson has no time.
I picked Beterbiev as soon as this fight was announced..... But his level of opposition hardly demonstrates this is a complete mismatch. Beterbiev hasn't proved he is 'Elite level' like many are suggesting.
Beterbievs development as a pro has been disruptive. Too dangerous as well as having promotional and matchmaking problems have made him an avoided man. Even sparring will be a problem for AB no doubt. What an opportunity this is for Johnson, who at his best is a serious talent. Callum has a slim chance. However this is also an opportunity for Beterbiev, who is quite rightly a massive favourite.
33 isn't that old meh, and it's not like he's a shop warn 33 year old. the age has nothing to do with it, the fact they cant even pay people to spar with beterbiev is the issue. nobody will fight him, nobody will spar him.

I give him a 25% chance, Beterbiev is getting older and he is less active so this is Johnson best chance. However I form Beterbiev beating him down, should a mid to late stoppage. Beterbiev by Ko by 5-8 rounds.
In the start frame on that video Eddie looks as if he's sending Callum to his doom I very much hope that's not the case. A Johnson win would be the best boxing story of the year.

That said, Johnson might be up against it, but he is a talent and he possesses skills and big power in both hands, and as formidable and fearsome as Beterbiev is, he does leave himself to be caught with a big counter and that is something Johnson does well and I think he will have success doing.
Good luck beating Beterbiev fighting him in the center of the ring, which is where Callum fights. He’s going to get brutally knocked out. You fight Beterbiev from the outside and keep it moving. You stand and bang and you’re getting flattened.
