Artur Beterbiev vs. Isidro Ranoni Prieto RBR.

What! Beterbiev fought Tavoris Cloud in his 6th fight. Cloud in his previous fight was Adonis Stevenson for the WBC LHW Championship. And Beterbiev destroyed him quickly, Cloud made it to the mid rounds vs Stevenson (a World Champion). Not bad for a 6th fight.

 

Sort of puts Joe Smith jr's punching power into perspective, dunnit?

Beterbiev would have jig sawed Hopkins in a round or two.

Looks like another Russian guy with suspect defense. His legs were briefly stiffened by that counter right hand prior to the first knockdown. That good foot work, and mobility from the amateurs looks nice, but many of these Russian guys need to incorporate some defensive skill into it as well. Guys like Kovalev, Beterbiev, Troyanovsky, Golovkin etc. seem to be offense is the defense types. While guys like Lomachenko, and Pirog actually have/had defensive skill to go with their mobility.

 

Yeah...But Beterbiev's last two opponents would at best be considered lateral steps from Beterbiev's previous opposition. The fact that he's already defeated Cloud and Campillo is an indication in previous fights is an indication that he could and should step up the level of comp going forward.

This guy ought to be fighting three to four times a year,such a shame to see talent like his so sporadically

 

Excuse me. Beterbiev is a young fighter with only 11 fights. Beterbiev needs to fight a crafty veteran such as Roy Jones before he moves up in competition. Jones needs a fighter with a World ranking ( so if he wins, he can get a title fight and break Hopkins record). Jones's best weight is LHW. So, if he wants to break Hopkins record hes gonna have to fight at LHW. I don't know why the hell im being heavily criticized for the fights that I wanna see happen?

 

Watch more of his fights, that's his biggest asset. Wrestling with the guy is about as stupid as trading blow for blow with him.

 

Not really possible because he observes Ramadan. Even that is only like a month it effectively puts you out for longer due to scheduling and preparation purposes.
