    Weird I thought Bivol was gonna face Smith, but oh well this is a decent match and it's good that Beterbiev is fighting again so soon.

    Those Russian dudes don't fight each other (boxing politics) but I'm not against this match either. Joe Smith Jr. is gonna break Beterbiev and then move back into his domination of the light-heavy weight division by becoming undisputed champion. Then he is gonna move up and KO Wilder and Joshua.

    He doesn't care about boxing. It´s been more of a headache for him than fun.
    He should cash out. Dude is 33 and has barely made any money at all.

    Smith's jawbone should file a lawsuit against him as it has already been broken twice and now he's signed to fight someone who can punch holes in castle walls lol. And word on the street is Artur broke Tavoris Cloud's jaw. That said, Smith can punch holes in castle walls himself so this is a match up between 2 of the biggest punchers in the sport.

    How does this get made as Smith isnt even top 15 with IBF or is everyone still avoiding Beterbiev?

    This. Beterbiev's resume is pathetic. Bivol and Gvozdyk are both putting in work and taking on good challenges, but Beterbiev continues to cherry pick.

    No, he just finally has a promotor (Hearn) that he trusts and a platform (DAZN) that can keep him busy and get him meaningful fights.

    Hearn has some big plans for Beterbiev and they did not start and end with fighting Callum Johsnon.

    This is a decent fight. We all want to see him against the tip tuys but Gvozdyk and Stevenson are tied up as are Kovalev and Alvarez. That's leaves Bivol and Jack, Jack's a Haymon guy so that ain't gonna happen, no idea why Bivol can't but taking all that into account Smith is a decent fighter who can punch and it should be a fun fight, however long it lasts, Smith can defo pull an upset off though Beterbiev will start a fairly heavy favourite.


    I'm just glad he's fighting regularly and the big fights will get made at some point.

    Hopefully this leads to a Bivol-Beterbiev clash in 2019. Eddie Hearn has expressed interest in making it.

    I know it will be a battle but Smith has gained more experince in his past 4 fights, I hope, that should give him the edge over Beterbiev who has not fought as many slick fighters as Smith Jr.. Plus Smith still has to go to work Monday and bust concrete. That should make him more mad.
