    Prime Roy aka Roid avoided savage punchers like the plague and he would've avoided Artur like he had Ebola so it's pointless speculating

    Yes Johnson was a proper road warrior scholar and a gent unlike these have gloves won't travel I refuse to sign on the dotted line unless I have every advantage that can be wangled in my favour filthy dirty stacked deck loaded dice rolling serial cheat warriors like Dre that many of these exact same clowns worship at the altar of here :facepalm:

    Pretty sure he was in his late 50s when he sparked Roy out cold though

    Ruiz decision
    Beterbievs style is dependent on being the stronger guy he won't be able to maul a HW. Roy had success against Ruiz because he was so fast but AB is not

    Most elite lhws would beat Ruiz.

    What Roy did wasn't that impressivez even James Toney record was better above 175lbs.

    The majority of members would favour a prime version of Roy over AB based upon his speed and elusiveness.

    The versions of who fought Tarver and Glen weren’t prime.

    The first Tarver fight saw Roy get hit with shots he’d never gotten hit with before.

    It showed Roy being absolutely exhausted in the final 3rd of the fight, despite the fact that it hadn’t been fought at a fast pace.

    All the signs were there that it wasn’t the version of Roy that we were used to seeing.

    IMHO, Tarver would always have given any version of Roy a tough fight based on styles. Even a prime version of Roy would have had his hands full. But Tarver got Roy when he was on the slide. The evidence is there.

    He then knocked him out in the rematch. And then Roy was so embarrassed, he took an immediate fight against Glen Johnson just 3 months later. If you watch the fight, Roy looked shell shocked. And like you and Serge have said, he went to sleep with a shot which didn’t look particularly hard. So what does that tell you? He was clearly damaged goods. Both physically and mentally.

    The versions of Roy who fought Tarver and Johnson wouldn’t have had a chance of beating Artur.

    Let me ask you a question:

    Would the 2004 version of Glen Johnson have been able to have beaten the version of Roy who you’ve chosen from 1999?

    IMHO, he’d literally have been lucky to have won a round.

    I loved Glen. He really was: ‘The Road Warrior’

    I’ve nothing but respect for him. He was a very tough man. But at the same time, he was a guy who split 3 fights with Clinton Woods.

    Looking at Roy’s fights against Tarver and Johnson isn’t going to give you an idea of how a prime for prime match with Artur may have played out.

    That’s what Artur would have been dealing with. Not the shell shocked version who Glen Johnson bullied for 9 rounds.

    How many rounds did they fight?

    Is it really comparable to what a scheduled 12 round fight against Ruiz would have been?

    It’s the clash of styles that make it interesting to ponder.

    AB doesn’t fight in the way that Roy and Toney did.

    Ah man! ok it's the last time i anwser you buddy,I know that your'e a loyal fan of Roy but let me say this:If someone ask the man itself if he would beat AB and you have to remind him his amateur records and his medals at the olympic too and his recent fight with Brown(who look to be very quick but not as elusive or got the reflex of Roy obviously(duh) then you have to beleive (no other choice unless ur dumb enough to think you know better than the man itself) who's gonna win? and of course Roy would say no(he's braindamage but not a fool too,he is too pround to admit it he's an ATG).I will not say to you what you already know what i think about the outcome...but Tarver himself say this in the fight against Campillo(AB bout):I will NEVER win against him in my whole career! cheers.

    Before he was knocked out by Tarver and Johnson, Roy amassed a record of 49-1 where he reigned as the P4P king for almost a decade. He barely lost rounds in the majority of his fights.

    I’m sure that he’d have been confident of beating AB in his prime, especially with his huge advantages in hand and foot speed.

    Tarver the guy who succumbed to KO 25% Eric Harding's pressure who walked him down and had him blowing out of his ass and on the verge of stopping him in the championship rounds and who went life and death winning a MD against Elvir Muriqi and who couldn't even drop glass jaw Dawson in 24 rounds? That just goes to show you how weak Roy's chin always was :lol:

    But of course, as I've already explained to you Brainwashed Brian's, excuses are instinctively reached for and more importantly quickly accepted for the losses and subpar performances for these fighters, a courtesy which is never extended to Beterbiev and certain types of fighters. If they get hurt, suffer a KD, or underperform, or god forbid lose a fight, they get absolutely crucified for it and it's evidence that they were always overrated hype jobs. :facepalm:

    Beterbiev would walk Tarver down and punch holes in him
