Bivol My list at 175: 1) Bivol 2) Beterbiev 3) Gvozdyk 4) Kovalev But the winner of Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk will be the division's #1 for me.
Tough love for AB. I think he's going into this fight very unprepared & it worries me. And legit AB is not in the top ten on a few lists!! If AB goes through with the fight I will praise him. To me it seems he'd rather pose with MMA fighters than fight a legit contender!! AB even says on his bio paraphrasing but he wanted to be a wrestler but somehow ended up boxing lol. Get outta here with that AB
He most certainly is. H2H certainly, and even on accomplishments as he has beaten zero top10 but 3 top20 opponents. Then there's also his level, as the Kalajdzic fight has shown, who got robbed against Browne and got mauled by Beterbiev. Every legit ranking has Beterbiev in their top10, GBP/Ring and TBRB in their top5, only Boxrec has him at #11 for some reason.
Boxrec had him at 13 just recently too. They bumped him up for some reason. I've got the screenshots!!!!
But you can't go by boxrec ratings, right?! Have you seen their 168 rankings ? 1. Smith 2. Eubank 3. Saunders 4. Ryder 5. Fielding 6. Chudinov 7. Benavidez 8. Monroe 9. Plant 10. N'Dam
Fair enough. Still I just don't feel comfortable for my boy going from the likes of Kornling to Gvozdyk
If AB loses I feel he'll switch sports!!! Every other photo on his social media is talking about mma!! The guy needs to know his role or get to steppin'. Can't wait till professor Gvozdyk takes Berbie to the school of sweet science
According to amateur career Artur Beterbiev is the strongest man in light heavy division. he has wins against Kovalev and Gvozdyk, plus first round win against Yunier Dorticós. Gvozdyk had chance to face Bivol in the final of Universiade in 2013, but Bivol was not able to fight because of the injury.
Biggest difference between Beterbiev and Gvozdyk now is Gvozdyk has been fighting far better competition and frequently. Beterbiev's career has been stagnant since literally no one was willing to fight the guy. He's also 34 now, so he's not in his prime, Gvozdyk has the advantages when it comes to youth and activity.
This This is accurate. Beterbiev's skills have actually declined a bit as a professional. An injury took something from him and he's a little older like you said. Still a very dangerous A level opponent. I'm pick Gvozdyk to win, though with Teddy Atlas in his corner, it makes me pause a bit. The nail needs to be smart about when he's throwing punches, and be in shape to move for a full 12 rounds. Atlas yelling random crap into his ear isn't going to help.
