After a big fight we always get threads like this on here,H2H status,ATG status,Mythical Match ups,lb for lb standings etc etc and then we get a ridiculous thread like this one ! Beterbiev v Louis lol, let’s just start by saying that Louis was the most dominant Champion in Boxing history and we can leave it there .
I had to check it twice. By the way you wrote your comment anyone would think that louis lost to galento. The truth is that Louis stopped him in 4. And of course that beterbiev stands not chance. A LHW with nothing apart from a brutal power that would not carry to HW vs the GOAT HW. Exactly, zero chances. None. He doesnt stand even the chance of a gift, like he got vs Bivol, he wouldn't see the 12th round.
Louis who for example knocked out Max Baer would destroy Beterbiev. Or Louis who beat Carnera, or Schmeling...
Andre Ward would have manhandled Beterviev. Joe Louis? Is it more correct to ask "who are we kidding" or "whom are we kidding"?
Louis's vulnerability was to going down not to getting knocked out and said knockdowns didn't effect him much. Galento was 60 pounds above the LHW limit and was beaten severley after that knockdown.
Of course he has a chance, he's a heavyweight by the standards of Louis era and likely better than Schmelling who beat Louis. He was 39 vs Bivol, Louis was retrired at that age
A HW by the standards of joe louis? wtf! Louis campaigned at 200 pounds. Galento, mentioned here, campaigned at 240-250. Schmelling weighed 195 pounds. Beterbiev is 175. HW my ass. Not to talk about Louis being the best HW in history. Beterbiev couldnt even win to bivol fair and square, wtf! stop hugging nuts, guys. Bivol's best victory is a blown up welter, and beterbiev's best victory is bivol. The days after an easter european fighter fights this forun is total crap.
Beterbiev is athletic, strong, technical, heavy handed, fast. Joe Louis is all that but at HW. You just gotta go Brown bomber on this one.
Beterbiev is too static for a monster punch mechanic like Louis. He might cause Joe a few problems early but I'm pretty sure he'd be Ko'd by the mid to late rounds. Strong, upright fighters were Louis' bread and butter. Strangely enough, I think Bivol's style matches up much better against Louis. He has all the Conn-esque attributes to make it extremely awkward for him.
