Artur Beterbiev vs Sullivan Barrera April 21 Miami

I'll take Beterbiev by KO but Barreras a live dog.

Barrera Is good but he's uber slow, should be a good fight for Beterbiev who will look very good imo.

 

If Beterbiev masters the art of manhandling & roughhousing, I can't even describe just how excited I would be to watch his future fights.

 

Barrera is gonna run into a buzz saw.

 

No doubt Beterbiev is the massive favorite in this fight, but I had expected more as 2 people favoring Barrera thus far.
Before the fight had been agreed upon I remember more here favored Barrera, and now it actually takes place in his backyard Miami (thus improving his chances), less people seem to back him in this.

 

Nor I, not yet.

But it's fights like this that he needs to hopefully see him improve and reach his potential. He's just past being a prospect, but not yet a top contender IMHO.

He also looks like a werewolf; the scary kind, not the homoerotic Twilight kind.

I wonder why GYM opted to host the fight in Barrera's hometown? I guess it was a financial decision, most promoters wouldn't want to give their opponents any advantages.

 

It already looked like this fight wasn't going to happen. Might have been the only way to prevent Barrera from pulling out.

 

It was financial reasons and the fact that Barrera still can't cross the Canadian border.
So where else would they put this main-event but in Florida.

 

He already has. He has a backgroud in wrestling and grappling. It is one of the national sports of Dagestan.

 

Yes, his inside wrestling has caused almost everyone he faced problems, even at HW in the amateurs.

That's probably going to be a big problem for Barrera, who is quite naïve in clinches and the like.

 

So no one gives Barrera a chance, I'll go with the Cuban, not sure why everyone thinks Barrera will get ko in less than 5, imo Barrera is more proven than berteviev, is going to be a great fight anyway Cubans love to fight the best, haven't heard they are duckers...

 

common sense would suggest if Barrera can make it all 12 rounds,and not look horrible he will get the judges gift decision. Miami is predominantly Cuban,no? Beterbiev better have an impressive showing. seems like a high risk fight for him,taking the fight in a place like FL where Barerra could be groomed to be a star.

 

This is pretty much the first guy Beterbiev is going to face that will truly think that they're going to win.
Cant wait for it. Think Beterbiev gets the KO, but still, great LHW fight
