Why? Has Artur got Rocky’s chin? Has Artur got Rocky’s engine? We know that they haven’t got the same style. We know that Artur doesn’t produce the same shot output, and is more conservative.
Sure but Louis wasn't known for great defense and was dropped multiple times by guys who were not heavyweights by today's standards. What evidence is there to suggest he's more durable than Beterbiev or that Morrison would have trouble landing on him?
Morrison would have caused most HW’s issues. He was big, strong, fast, aggressive and confident. That’s a potent mix for anyone to deal with. I think that he’d have caused Louis lots of issues. But Louis was bigger than Beterbiev, with huge power. He also had fast hands and was a ruthless finisher. Beterbiev looks great. But we’ve not even seen him at CW yet.
Beterbiev is unproven above light heavyweight, yes he got some wins against bigger guys in the amateurs, but that doesn’t prove his power above light heavyweight, if he doesn’t have the power, then Morrison will get to him at some point, Beterbiev doesn’t have the best defence.
Louis seems potentially more vulnerable to power punchers. He was kayoed when prime/near prime by LHW sized Schmelling, non puncher Braddock and hurt by Conn. Has anyone as unskilled as Galento ever dropped Beterbiev?
Galento could be awkward. He also had a great left hook, and was around 230 pounds. These things happen. And especially in a career spanning almost 70 fights. Joe wasn’t perfect, and he had stylistic issues like everybody does. But Beterbiev has been dropped by LHW’s. Again, we’ve not even seen him fight at CW. And we may never see him fight there. But he’s a great fighter. And I’m looking forward to the Bivol fight. But it’s hard to compare a guy who’s only had about 20 pro fights, to a guy who was sometimes fighting every 2-3 months.
If you watch the video of Galento dropping Louis, that 'unskilled' fat guy made a pretty nifty move to land that punch. Louis got his right hand up to block a wide left hook, but Galento shifted his feet to change the trajectory of the punch.
