Artur Beterbiev would have tossed Andre Ward all over the ring

Ward would not be going inside with Artur and trying the billy goat act. He would need to stay at distance and really use footwork. Artur is not mentally weak like Kovalev and would not fold like a lawn chair. It would be an amazing fight.

This. Ward would definitely use a different strategy against Beterbiev.

He should already have one loss to Kovalev in their first bout.

Beterbiev is the Jeff Lacy of our time ready to be exposed by the first elite boxer that knows how to defend himself. He has a supposedly impressive resume, yet I see no true substance just some never beens and a fella finally finishing 40 yo Adonis.

Ward can operate at any distance and knows every trick in the book, and in Kessler, Abraham, Kovalev, Froch and Miranda he'd faces some of the hardest hitting and/or physically strongest fighters around of different styles and attributes and sometimes elite skills, and handled them like the champ he is.

It was Kov's discipline, intensity and jab that made his life harder, and I've seen no indication that Beterbiev can replicate that performance vs. a tru ring master who cuts you down like he was born to do it. Once inside on a fighter not having elite skills at a distance where the snap is taken off your shots, it's game over just like when a boxer meets his first opponent with wrestling skills in MMA and gets taken down. I'm not even sure Bet beats Froch, or I'm rather sure to take an educated guess to lost to him in a tough men's contest.

Between the Golovkin, Beterbiev and Kovalev power hype, the first two have demonstrated the kind of skill level vs. opponent variety I just don't see in Bet's actions or resume. Ward 117-111, Froch UD / late TKO

Gvozdyk seemed too soft for the game imo. He never had that killer instinct and relied on his natural intellect to get him through. Sort of like Wladimir.

I could see Ward taking his soul.

Beterbiev would have been a handful for any 175lb fighter in history. Certainly one of the most powerful.

    Wards 'inside fighting'

If inside fighting is rutting then ye he was a master of it

Beterbiev punches through his opposition as opposed to head butting & holding it..

Ward was blessed with great physicality at 168 because he was basically a boiled down LHW, but when he came up against physical fighters (Bika, Froch) who he couldn't bully as much he had to hug them & bore in with his head.. if that's inside fighting I'm a fkin China man LOL.. Beterbiev could probably hang with the CWs today.. he's a different animal.. anyway, it's not going to happen as Ward was gifted the LHW belts, defended them once being allowed to use illegal tactics & then retired sharpish with that American privilege he's afforded, knowing full well he was very fortunate at LHW..

Beterbiev is not more skilled than Froch was, Usyk boxed his ears off in the amateurs as would Ward and Kov in the pros in a fantasy fight, Beterbiev only has power and nothing more.

Nah. Wishful thinking. Ward would have made Beterbiev look silly just like everybody else and then there would be a bunch of butthurt and excuses that would resurface every time Ward's name is mentioned for years and years and years and then some other mythical boogie man would be created.

It's all become so predictable.

Beterbiev rag-dolls Ward. Ward’s dirty tactics would be met with equally dirty responses from AB. It’s too bad most of his opponents fought him so cleanly. The Ghost of Kov, his best scalp, was a clean fighter and was happy to get a paycheck. He let Ward hit him low, use elbows and try to head butt him without responding. Beterbiev is stronger and meaner than Kov. He would not allow Ward to get away with his usual cowardly dirty boxing and would deal with it in the ring. Maybe a few shots to the back of the head or head butts to return the favor to Ward.

Why do you think Ward scurried off into retirement after the second Kov fight? He is no dummy. He knows the beating that was awaiting him if he fought Beterbiev.

Elite boxers, what a sh... term. Beterbiev is as elite as a boxer can be. Just that he doesn't look cute or flashy when boxing means he is not elite. Perhaps you have no idea about boxing.
Beterbiev has a great amateur career and is a incredible Boxer who also happens to have the perfect pro style with the heaviest hands of the last 30 years.

Some guys here love the canelo and Floyd flashy boxing with sometimes no substance behind and just ignore guys like ggg and beterbiev who are great boxers with all the skills. They are just so subtle with the usage of their skills especially their defense. They fight very efficient to maintain their stamina, but the roll with all punches, parry with their gloves and move their head just enough to not get the whole impact of the punches.

Beterbiev is an elite boxer no matter from which side you look at him as is ggg
