These guys actually fought thrice in the amateurs. Subkhankulov defeated Uzlyan via UD3 in 2013, 2014, and 2016.

 

On the line is the WBA Continental Europe Lightweight title.

 

Round 1

Subkhankulov is kneading the right jab into the left wrist and face of Uzylan. Quick lefts into the chest by Subkhankulov. Uzlyan following, but his frontfoot pressure isn't yielding results as he gets drilled anytime he opens up with a left jab. Subkhankulov is comfortably maintaining distance and teeing off.

Subkhankulov is styling on Uzlyan, easily scoring through his guard from outside. Lots of baby steps in & out and lateral shuffling, and quick snap pivots to gain an extra pace's breadth while tossing a right hook as diversion. Uzlyan mostly staying quiet, reaching in with the left jab and getting abused whenever he does unsheathe it. Here and there a grazing lunge-in body shot by Uzlyan, not nearly enough.

Light work tbh. If he set his feet and started turning shots over I think Subkhankulov could think about ending this inside schedule. He's outlanding Uzlyan to a ridiculous degree.

Uzlyan has no answers, shut out at the halfway point. He is scoring a few jabs here and there (as evidenced by some puffing on Subkhankulov's left eye) and occasionally catching a piece of his opponent with the swiping hook downstairs, but he's being overwhelmed statistically.

 

Double right jab up top, left uppercut splitting the guard, ducking step rightward is an effective sequence for Subkhankulov, and he's making liberal use of it.

So too is the 1-2 lobbed into the face of Uzlyan followed by a whipping right hook in the ribs from a sudden crouch.

 

Sadly, it (Israilov-Ramezanpourdelavar) was the only competitive match-up on the card.
