Stępień doing the smart thing, eschewing a slugfest with the visitor from Bogota, instead keeping his chin tucked and lobbing hard underhanded power shots on the body while Díaz is throwing his reckless wide nonsense up top. By midway into the fourth Díaz was blowing hard, arms dropping instinctively to protect his sides, allowing Stępień to land unobstructed combos on the face. By the fifth he was utterly gassed and getting rocked all over the place, walked down with stiff jabs planted in his now-bared teeth every few steps. To his credit it took a good long while for Stępień to put him down, finally doing so with a meaty liver hook, which caused Díaz to partially turn away bending over, with Stępień drilling a not very sporting right hand down into the side/back of the head to usher him the rest of the way onto the canvas (where he rode the count and was dismissed). No foul call by the ref, eh, protect yourself at literally all times I guess...he technically wasn't on his knees or butt yet, so, fair play.

Balski twitchy as hell, Masternak the calmer and more fluid operator in there off the bat

 

Balski rocked by a 1-2 about two minutes in, otherwise a quiet feel out round full of jabbing and feint-stepping. 10-9 Masternak, scoring nicely on the body a few times but very reserved, keeping the volume low even when finding success.

 

Masternak realizing quickly that Balski possesses little to worry him. Wrecking him now with looping rights and left hooks. I suspect this won't go ten..

 

Three zip, brutal one-sided ass-kicking.

 

Balski getting shakier on his legs but with the desperate air of dangerousness of a cornered animal, hoping to sneak a shot in between some of Masternak's and time him with a lights-out switch. Balski walks him down, into a corner, RAMS SEVERAL RIGHT HAND LEADS INTO THE NOSE! MASTERNAK ON ***** STREET! BARELY SURVIVES!!!

Momentum, body language and generalship have done a 180° turn. Balski has ballskies of titanium. More right hands.
