I'm a Pole and please don't generalize :-( Never hyped that guy. Beat some tomato cans and that's all. He could be a good fighter but he has to show it against some decent opponents. We have to wait.
check out the european forum, theres a thread on top on Artur Szpilka... I know he's got a lot of fights to go before his goal but Szpilka really brings excitement to the table. I know he's fighting bums but he's taking them out easily, looking great doing it too. Some call him a polish arreola.... but thats probably just because of the bald head... Szpilka's power and speed and unusual style can be a great asset to the new HW era. Check out some of his videos
Artur is fighting tomato cans, but his knocking out this tomato cans just like a great fighter should. But we HAVE to wait and see how he handles him self against better fighters.
He´s an early prospect (just 8 fights) so he has a right to fight bums just like anyone else in learning and developing their career. He has already fought a guy with a 7-0 record though and knocked him out in the first round. As to the hype surrounding him, Poles aren´t the only people who have taken early notice of Szpilka: “He has a very powerful punch in both hands and seems like he’s got the desire to work...I like everything that I saw, except that Szpilka hurt my sparring partner.” - Monte Barrett “The Needle fights and moves like 220-pound Vic Darchinyan.” - Francisco Palacios
I sent my son the Fightnews article about him. He told me when he's 17-0, then we'll talk about him. I guess it is a waiting process to see what he's really made of.
Looks good but way too early to proclaim him anything. Let's see what happens when he gets punched back. 4 of his 5 KO's have come in the 1st with the remaining one ending in the 2nd.So far so good. Now we have to wait and see what happens when he ends up in a tough fight.Does he have cheeen and does he have heart,stamina,grit,etc...???
He has been creating a lot of media buzz, but I haven't seen anybody on this forum hype him like "crazy". He is a hot prospect at best, at the moment.
There´s quite a few. Here´s the one I like most. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbEqcdrEmvI[/ame]
My outlook is that the minute Szpila beats a known boxer you will see hype like no other HW fighter in a very long while. That´s because its very difficult not to be excited about his power, speed, foot and body movement, dynamic style of fighting and personality. At this point, he seems to have it all but as many people have already pointed out we still don´t know the entire Artur Szpilka, especially his conditioning, chin and overall toughness.
