If this fight were to have taken place a few years ago at 140 lbs who would you pick to win?

Burton had better skills, but Gatti had a much higher will to win. This would have been a fun fight to watch.

ward was able to beat burton because of his will and his pressure, i think gatti could have done it too.

But Ward does that better than Gatti, walking a guy down and wearing him out with body shots. And Ward only just beat him.

That is one of my favourite fights ever, Ive seen 50 times and I think Augustus won it. But it was by no means controversial, it was a war and Ward pipped it with the KD.

If anything I feel its Gatti's handspeed and skill thats get Augustus in this. I reckon he would be able to catch him more often and wouldnt be taking so much back as Ward.
Under Mcgirt, Arturo had a little more savvy and rhythm about him, and it complimented his natural ability nicely.

Gatti is a titlelist calibre of fighter, Ward and EA are fringe contenders at best. There have been times in their careers that they have been far from that.

Either way its a fight of the year kind of fight.
