Seamus, I didn't think you were being anything other than jovial.

    Calm down gents.

Burr, I think Matthysse looks better by the fight. But for me, Tim Bradley is still the best of the recent 140lbers. If he doesn't come back down, Matthysse should waste Garcia and claim supremacy.

I know you aren't thin skinned, Burt. You are welcome to dish it out to me as you like.

Going back further, who would you compare McGirt and/or Ward to? To me, Ward seems to be one of those special fighters who has no holes in his game and controls near every minute of every round. He's a real pleasure to watch.

I think Mattysshe stops him by just being plain better, but I wouldn't say he does it early: Gatti was very tough, was a bit bigger than Lucas, and would jab well for atleast a round or two.

Eventually, though, the right hand starts to land, Arturo does nothing to take it away but try to throw more and harder, and the Argentine piles it on over 10 or 11 to just wear Gatti out.

S, you answered your own question...Andre Ward is a "special" fighter who
by being special, reminds me of no one but himself ...He has CLASS...
But he has to get rid of those white gloves...Like part of a circus routine...
P.S. In a small way Ward reminds me of one of my favorites, Floyd Patterson in the way he answers questions after a fight...Intelligent and modest..

Agreed, Patterson was a class act, and so is Ward. He is a smart guy with a great and humble boxing opinion...

Mathysse has gotten better since the Judah fight. His finishing skills and punch placement has really improved. You can tell he has a purpose when he hits you in certain areas. In my opinion, he is the next great JW. I think he would be Bradley. I'd love to see a fight with him and Peterson.

    RIP Gatti.
I'd have to take Matthysse KO 6 to 8 rounds.

I'm a huge Gatti fan but I believe Lucas would win. He's better at the weight, and more importantly he's got a style edge.

Matthysse-Bradley would be a dream fight though.

Thinking about it more Pacquaio is likely all wrong for Matthysse stylistically, although I think Matthysse would do better against Mayweather than Pacquaio would

Everyone sayys that a guy like Pacquaio is wrong, but Lucas has never really had problem with quick guys like him. Mathysse has excellent timing, and he really knows how to work the body and slow guys down. I think a matchup with Pacman would be excellent, and it would end up a slugfest by the end of the fight. Pac is not as consistently mobile as he used to be. Plus, the only time Pac really used his mobility was against bigger fighters. He never did that against the little guys.

I think Mathysse would possibly stop Bradley. I may be biasedl, because I don't like Bradley as a fighter, but Tim would get a close decision loss at best.

Matthysse would batter Gatti into submission by the 8th round.
