Arturo Gatti vs Marcos Maidana @ 140 - Prime for Prime

    I think this would be an awesome fight. I also think it would be a greusome fight.

    From the opening bell there would no doubt be fireworks. Both fighters would have their fare share of momentum.

    When I first look at this fight, I want to say Maidana, but Gatti had just as much grit as Maidana, and possibly then some, and both have serious firepower at this weight. Will vs Will this is a dead even fight in that respect.

    Honestly, I dunno who wins this, I think it's a pick 'em. Maidana may have a small edge, as Gatti could possibly cut bad, causing a ref to force a stoppage in Maidana's favor.

    Thoughts?

    I figure if Maidana wins, it would be a accumulation type Tko, or Tko from cuts.

    But if Maidana did win, Gatti would deff buzz him more than once before it is ended.

    Gatti narrow, controversial decision where some feel Maidana was not credited enough for power per punch (as he was not by anyone who gave the fight with Khan to Khan by more than 2 points)

    Gatti would get big shots in but the former SFW was getting bounced around when exchanging with Ward, hurt many times. Maidana is a much harder hitter than Ward. But also not as durable as Ward. I couldn't write Gatti off but I think Maidana would overpower him, because as soon as you hurt Gatti with anything significant, he tended to drop his underrated boxing skills and went ape**** toe-to-toe on you...which is why his boxing skills are underrated, perhaps.

    Big fan of both but i believe gatti would outbox maidana for a few early rounds and have enough grit and heart to hang with him and win a few rounds where they both engage. gotta give it to gatti though. in a close UD

    Calling Gatti the most overrated fighter in history is overrated.

    How do you think Gatti is overrated? He is known by boxing knowledgable, and unbiased, as a limited overall boxer, with big power, and a gigantic heart.

    wow, interesting fight


    not sure how maidana's power would carry at 140 (could easily), and gatti could take punishment..they both like to brawl....my heart says gatti, but maidana may have enough pop to put him down for good
