Gatti by KO Mitchell was too stationary with his bad knees Mitchell also had a weak chin.

Why 2007? Both were shells of themselves. Gatti was beat to **** from all his ring wars and Mitchell's knees were completely shot.

I'm going to go with Mitchell and his bum knees to have just enough left to out box a game but far too hittable Gatti.

Prime for prime I have Mitchell all day.

Yeah, a prime Mitchell damn near shuts Gatti out.

Even when you look at their respective performances against Mayweather, I think you can see the talent gap. Both were stopped in the 6th, but Mitchell was more competitive. In terms of numbers, Mitchell reduced Mayweather to 38% on connected punches, which is the 4th best of anyone against Mayweather at welterweight. Obviously I'm speaking of relatively minor successes here, but Gatti didn't produce anything like the flurry Mitchell had near the end of the second round, either:

I believe Mitchell said he wanted a farewell fight with Gatti.

I didn't realize or remember that. Then again, that makes sense since Mitchell was likely looking to cash out at the end of his career. He was a very talented fighter whole basically was plagued with injuries his whole career.

Mitchell was never the same after the first fight with Kostya. He lost his speed and became more easier to hit. In his prime he was a downgraded Camacho with a weaker chin.

Mitchell sounded like a fighter who knew he would wasn't going to get a title shot and tried to end his career with victory over a big name fighter.

Pretty much. The guy only lost to top fighters and has some impressive scalps on his resume. He was far superior to Gatti as a fighter when both were prime.

Mitchell was never the same when LAVENDER JOHNSON took his head off in a battle of lightweight contenders.Knocked him clean out.
He was a slick boxer but had a pretty average chin and if the going got too rough he would fold.
Out of all the pro boxers I have met he was for sure at the top for lacking class.

Sounds like you have personal vendetta against Mitchell.

He was a better boxer for sure but Gatti had better power and a better chin not to mention there was no quit in Gatti in his prime.

I'm a huge fan of Gatti's but truth be told, the Duva's were very careful who they matched him with. They steered him clear of slick boxers like Mitchell and for the most part kept him matched with guys that would be in front of him with the exceptions of big money fights with Floyd and Oscar.

I agree 100% that Gatti was the bigger puncher and he would certainly fight all the way to the end but I just see Mitchell being on his horse and picking Gatti apart.
