Gatti Vs Vinny Paz at 140.
I tend to thing the bigger Paz maybe gets the better of Gatti later on in a war.
    What you guys think??

I'd never considered this one. What a war!

I'd like to think Gatti would come through and stop him, but I doubt it. With fighters like these it could go either way, every time.

I think the same but it would be an epic war. Gatti had some good boxing skills when he wanted to use them but he had the temperament of a rabid wild dog. As soon as it got rough (3 seconds) Gatti would be trying to engage in a fire fight and I think Paz would get the better of it, more and more, eventually busting him down. Gatti would land plenty of his big shots first, I'd think but it would be a battle of attrition where Paz was as you said a little bigger, and I think significantly more durable too. Also, I think he was a little bit better of a fighter, even when you compare him to the Gatti that was relaxed enough to "box" and use his skill.

Good matchup, tough call. I would go with Paz. He'd probably win a decision. I think of Gattis fights with Robinson, Rodriquez and Manfredy, and its hard to imagine Gatti winning.

I'm pretty sure this path has been well-trodden here, and the consensus is always that the Pazmanian Devil is just too strong.

    And yeah, definitely more durable.

Put it this way: assuming he doesn't score a lucky KO himself, do you see Thunder reaching the final bell against the Black Mamba?

I pick Gatti. Pazienza was ok, but he would be hit and stopped. I remember when Roger Mayweather easily beat Vinny.

    Roger beat him on points.

You really see Gatti stopping Paz?

I know he beat him on points, it was on the I think Hearns/Barkley undercard with Virgil Hill fighting some guy I forget. I am getting old I do not remember who Virgil fought that night. But Roger outclassed Vinny and even knocked him down with a nice uppercut. Vinny did not fight many guys like Gatti in his career. I can just see Gatti landing his left hook and Vinny not being aggressive and losing the fight.

Gatti went life and death with some pretty mediocre fighters who couldnt punch hard.

Vinny not being aggressive? Vinny was always aggressive!

Neither guy has great defense and both like to go all out for the brawl. Both would land often and both were great finishers. In a fight like this Gatti always has a chance.

However I think Vinny had a wilder style, better chin and harder punch. I like Gatti in this fight, but 9 times out of 10 I think Vinny would get to him, maybe even quite early. It depends on the exchanges, anything could happen! Thriller!

I guess I didnt read well enough. I would go with Paz but I see the fight somewhat playing out like he said, all action, and I dont think Paz punched as hard as Gatti did at 140.
