this is what salsanchezfan said i think its a brillaint write up about him

Bad week or so for boxing.

Gatti was special, because he transcended what we usually require as fans, at least on boards like this that are dedicated to the sport, and things are picked apart down to a gnat's ass.

No one ever called him a great fighter, and it didn't matter. No one cared, and I ****ing loved that about him. He went in with the intent of giving every ounce of effort he had to give, regardless of the beating he knew was to follow. It was honest effort, and those of us who suffer routinely through a snorefest that is billed as a heavyweight title bout or are subject to the sometimes indifferent attitudes of some top fighters knew when we watched him that we were getting the real thing, a man who actually cared about what he did. This was where we began to care less about perfect, glossy records and appreciated the fact that a man with no real greatness in his genes was willing to put his ass on the line against whomever, and you knew he'd give it everything he had.

Sometimes it worked for him, other times he was hopelessly outclassed, but he always seemed to reinvigorate himself and make us interested again. So many others would have gone by the wayside after the kinds of losses he suffered at times in his career, but he seemed to understand that the way he fought was going to have some fallout from time to time, and he accepted those bumps in the road with a shrug and a smile, and came back strong the next time.

We marvelled at his sometimes improbable victories, applauded in appreciation of his effort in defeat, knowing all along that he represented something we found in ourselves. There is a lot more Arturo Gatti than "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather in all of us, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Go with grace, champ.

You're reaffirming what I said earlier about Gatti living a dangerous life? You called me out for making an "assumption" and even farther that equated to me knowing "nothing about life". :-(

Now YOU'RE making all sorts of assumptions, even detailed medical analysis on the mans death.

You're a typical e-dip**** Arka. You punch out whatever fits your stance and beliefs at any given moment. You already made a complete and total 180 degree turn, being a dick over my assuming and then linking me to wikipedia articles of potential illnesses he suffered from.

Get your **** together if you want to have an intelligent discussion about this. Also, make up your mind, you're looking startingly ignorant and unsure of yourself at the moment.

A great tribute and a great post. More than worthy of someone two or three times your age.

I have no idea how Gatti died. I was merely listing some possibilities, apart from your cast iron murder theory.

I just find these smug statements about what must or must not have happened to be slightly offputting-to put it mildly.

Also, let's not hijack the thread and from now on keep this conversation to private messages . OK?

I don't have anything else to say. You insulted me in no small way, you think it's okay for yourself to speculate but when I do so it's smug and worthy of your petty internet scorn.

The media from THE PLACE OF HIS BIRTH says foul play is suspected. You want to go against the law enforcement and the news reports coming out, feel free. Do NOT staple them onto me as if I whimsically created them out of thin air.

I am hearing from a good source that Arturo's wife is a very strong suspect in the enquiry and it was only Gatti, his 10 month old and his wife in the flat on that morning .. He was found in only his underwear , blood spattered and with signs of heavy head trauma....... very sad................ only 37 ..

Was the same women the spousal abuse happened with, or his second wife?

Boy, look at how the situations shaping up. Occam's Razor, which I'm supposedly stupid for heavily considering it was murder when all signs have been pointing to it.
