And he proved he was already at the top level. Get over it.

Jesse Hart will apparently be on the undercard.

Vetyeka is alright I suppose (thought he was on his way to beating donaire before the weak stoppage). Just feel for this stage Walters is the fight that should happen (also assume loma won't be on the Klitschko card as originally rumored)

Losing close to Salido then beating Gary Russell Jr. and Piriyapino proves that he is "at the top level...?"

He still has just one victory over a top 10 opponent and that was Russell who was a very unproven #8 at best at Featherweight...

    Can't tell if serious...

It was a clear 2-2 in rounds plus Donaire had just legit dropped Vetyeka in the 4th and final round before the stoppage.

It was a weak ass stoppage, no doubt, but if you are going to say one guy was on his way to winning I think that guy was clearly Donaire (IF you are going to make the argument that there was a clear favorite from that point on).

It was competitive until the stoppage. From there it could have gone either way really.

    ^ Totally agree.

A dead even fight but a legit victory by way of the lone knockdown.

The stoppage was very weak but rules are rules.

Odd to have this fight get so much backlash since it happened when legit robberies and horrible come-from-behind TKO stoppages are ignored or quickly forgotten based on who you were rooting for. Seems like a big inconsistency. I am a Donaire fan so you can say I'm "whining" or something about it, but I'm saying this because in my mind too few acknowledge boxing rules and reality of what is occurring before them. People looking at the wrong things in this fight (should be saying the cut was weak and the 10-10 scoring of the 5th round was beyond strange... not that the fight or result is somehow tainted). I said right after that I wanted a rematch but when talk of a Donaire/Walters clash soon followed I was all over that instead. Donaire/Vetyeka II would still intrigue me at some point perhaps depending on where both of them are in the future.

EDIT: To get back on topic, yes, Vetyeka is a good opponent for anyone at Feather and I would approve of a Lomachenko/Vetyeka undercard bout for the PPV. If Lomachenko won it would be by far his best victory. If Vetyeka won, man, would his resume be pretty ***y over the past year and a half or so.

    Thanks bruh...

I can troll sometimes and like to talk about more subjects then I do but it seems like my posts are dictated by reading others' delusions or inconsistencies.

I actually thought Vetyeka cut Donaire with a punch, and the ref appeared to make the same ruling initially. A rematch would certainly have been in order.

And I agree, Vet-Loma is a very good semi-final, if that fight gets made.

A bit unlucky for Simpiwe, though, since I think stylistically he matches up better with Donaire than Lomachenko.
